Rebuilding by refusing to play York or Zamula even as #6 dman.

Hayes’ minutes have not been steadily declining. That’s just another one of your easily disproven lies.

Hey, Torts can only play the players on the roster. He doesn’t control the roster!

Wait…

When Fletcher was hired, it was with a clear mandate to "win now," Holmgren and Scott were adamant about that.
Fletcher did not sell the house doing so, 2nd and 3rd for Braun (recouped the 3rd last TDL), got a 6th for Weal, gave a 5th for Hayes' rights, 4th and 5th at the TDL for Grant and Thompson. So net cost of making the playofs, 2nd, 4th, (2) 5ths.

The problem came last summer, when it was either fire AV, eat $15M and start a rebuild or double down. Let's say Fletcher had pushed for a rebuild, think he would have been given the green light by Scott? In what universe?

Basically, all the damage came on one transaction, Ghost/Risto, 1st, 2 2nd rd picks, Atkinson/Voracek was a wash.

Tippett, a 1st and 3rd was about all they were getting for G, Colorado wasn't offering Newhook or Byram, so it would have been Barron, 2023 1st (late 20s?), and another asset.
End up with Tippett, 2024 1st, (2) 2023 3rd and 2023 4th at the TDL.
Traded their own 2023 3rd and 2024 2nd for TDA (27).

The cap ramifications of Hayes and Ellis won't matter b/c they're rebuilding (they'll be dumping salary the next few years, not signing big name FAs). They were stuck with Voracek's $8.25M next year if they don't make the Atkinson trade, so a lower cap hit and then an extra year when they have dumped JVR's salary.

They don't suck b/c of Fletcher's transactions, Patrick and Myers were damaged goods - they suck because they blew too many draft picks and haven't drafted an elite player for a decade. Couts in 2011. TK is probably the best player since then. Fletcher is just the icing on the shit pie (The Help).
Ok, it's the 2022-2023 season now and Schmuck is saying it's a 'stabilizing' year. Stabilizing year for what? At the end of the 2021-2022 year, Schmuck should have told Scott and the senior advisors that 2022-2023 needs to be a tear down year and he'd have the analytics and stats to prove it. He didn't. So my question is what are they stabilizing? The defense is worse, the offense is worse and Carter Hart looks like he's about to have a psychiatric meltdown.

You can blame Hextall all you want, but this team has gotten progressively worse under Schmuck's watch. That's not debatable. Every move that man has made has backfired on a grand scale. He needs to go and the fact you can't see the damage he's inflicted is laughable. You continually point to the previous regime as the problem and that Schmuck has been 'mandated' to win. Look at this club. Does that look like winning to you? Christ, even a second year expansion club looks better than Schmuck's team and that's saying something because Ron Francis is an awful GM as well. Schmuck takes being awful to a whole new level.

Shit management, shit players, shit media, shit fanbase.

A perfect match.

The people who don’t belong are the 0.0001% of us who actually have the most basic understanding of the sport. Most of the fanbase loves and deserves the exact dogshit they’re getting. They got everything they begged for - goons, tryhards, and snipers - and it’s exactly as worthless and detrimental as we knew it would be.

They suck because the team got worse. They were worse in the short and long term because the GM took the path of least resistance in trying to win now 4 years ago. If they traded away a 1st rounder in 2019, but actually solved a roster problem long-term, great! Instead, they paid full market value for a Justin Braun and then continued to keep him around.

Now you might be thinking that they needed a RHD and had no choice. Great. Pay more for a good one or get the stopgap the market dictates is cheap and then move on ASAP. Yes, that’s harder than tossing out a 2 and a 3 and selling it based on platitudes of veteran guidance. That’s the job in 2022.

TLDR; They do not suck because of Fletcher’s moves. They suck because of the moves he did and didn’t make. Both are vital to this situation.

On April 22, 2012, the Flyers eliminated the Pens in the first round of the playoffs. Little did we know that it would be the last good time we, as Flyers fans, were ever going to have.

A decade and change later and it’s worse than ever. Congrats Cuck, you’ve achieved a level of failure on par with the Ford Edsel, the Polish Calvary in WWII and New Coke.

At what point do these idiots realize that leadership, culture, etc are not, and never have been, the problem?

Crazy how stupid this fanbase is.
Hard to believe that a lack of skill, hockey sense and speed is not conducive to winning. I’ll bet that if they’d just block more shots (especially with their faces), punch more people, and work a lot harder they’d make the playoffs.

I will say, I am curious when the “highest rated prospect pool” banner raising ceremony will be held.

Wouldn’t want McCauley’s promotion to look as being poorly timed.

The article talks about Dave Scott and Fletcher. Not the players.

Those Hayes friends were AV's guys, Hayes was AV's guy. They doubled down on AV and lost.

Torts didn't get the message that Hayes was the PO poster boy, his minutes are steadily declining.

Hayes got a muligan last year between his injury and his brother, but patience is wearing thin, despite his scoring on a team desperate for offense. Fletcher may or may not be rebuilding, but Torts certainly is.

They're doubling down on Tortorella and losing.

They may be terrible at their jobs, but at least they never learn.
