The only thing the fans here want is to complain.

“Aggressive retool is idiocy! They need to blow for Bedard!”

“How could they not sign Gaudreau for 7 years & $10M?!”

“No free agent wants to sign or extend in this awful organization!”

“DeBrincat was on the market! They should’ve traded 5th overall & the Florida 2024 1st for him! They could have extended him!”

They want them to tank & acquire picks. Then get mad when they don’t spend picks & tie up major cap to get a 30 y/o Gaudreau for 7 yrs.

They want them to lose, & then get mad when they lose. They get mad when they win.

Strawman arguments galore.

How come the only way to prop up your position is by lying?

When Chuck Fletcher unintentionally puts you in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes…

What if this truly is Fletcher’s version of rebuilding as he has proven his incompetence countless times:
- no cap space
- traded away draft picks
- plugs blocking youth
- maximum amount of contracts signed etc.

So if he’s rebuilding that is quite bad. And if he’s trying to compete, well the results show quite the opposite. Either way he is bad.

Giroux with another solid game in Ottawa.

I’m more, and more confident that moving Giroux wasn’t about selling off assets for a rebuild. Blowing every single present, and future day cap dollar contradicts that plan.

I’m certain they moved him because they somehow believed their continued failures were due a lack of leadership, etc.

It's absolutely about sacrificing a scapegoat.

I’ve had mixed takes with Bundy. I’m always down for someone shitting on incompetent parts of the organization, being pro tank - but while he chooses to call our Fletcher, he strongly defends the other members of the country club atmosphere.

He’s carried a 92 point pace in his 43 games since the trade, regular season and playoffs.

For a 1st round dud and the current 2nd worst team in the Eastern Conference. At what point do we admit the Flyers brass was onto something?

There isn’t a single player in this whole organization that really have any attachment to do going forward. As I want a full on tear down personally. Obviously some players would be here longer than others given circumstances age, contract, etc.

But I do laugh at how much they’re shoehorning Tippett into fruitful usage so they can get an optic win.

Moving on from Giroux was about them finishing 4th worst in the league with him, & his turning 35 this year & demanding multiple more seasons of $6.5Mish cap hit.

Oh, & they got a 2024 1st plus Tippett who looks like a young player right now.

Would’ve been dumb to keep him instead.

Yeah but Owen Tipper is on the first line? That's priceless my friend.

If Charles Entertainment Fletcher wasn't so dog shit at his job, this team could have traded Giroux and signed him back in the offseason.

They weren't going anywhere with Giroux, we know that, b/c they didn't last season.
No, Tippett isn't a 1st line forward, of course, Hayes isn't a 1C either.
But it doesn't hurt for Tippett to get top TOI as long as he's making things happen.
They're not playing him there to justify the trade, they're playing him there due to injuries and Farabee being less than 100%.

Tippett is a solid middle six winger, and the 1st in 2024 will have value, while in two years Giroux will be 37 with a 6.5M cap hit.

You wanted to rebuild, so why the f--- is everyone whining?

Tippett is a 3rd line player. Fletcher has just built such an awful team that he seems better by comparison. On a good team he doesn't touch the second line.

The team isn't rebuilding. They're playing favorites. Make no mistake, Tippett is a Fletcher favorite and Fletcher is Tortorella's boss. Tortorella listens to his bosses. Always has.

They weren't going anywhere with Hayes, Fisto, or TDA and this team invested assets and contracts in them.

The moronic “dog shit” move would have been to bring back Giroux.

Why should a bottom tier team spend $6.5M of its cap for 3 years on a player who will be 35-37?
