“Seeler will be a #7, he’ll only fill in for injuries”
This was as easy to predict as gravity.

They're stuck with Risto right now, Torts has no choice but to try to make it work.
Even if Torts wants to get rid of him, that contract makes it difficult.
But at some point either Torts learns to play the way Torts wants him to, or he'll find himself on the bench.
if they are trading it wont be a old dog..I'll bet you both of my kidneys and one lung that they're not showcasing shit. They're just clueless.
Don't worry, that contract will be easily moveable, or so I've read multiple timesI can't remember, is it good to feel stuck with a guys contract 2 games into that 5 year contract?
We're used to it after the celebrated ellis dealI can't remember, is it good to feel stuck with a guys contract 2 games into that 5 year contract?
Bingo. The people who are complaining about Veteran pickup Lucas Sedlak are the same who were complaining about a certain French born #4 C who was considered skillless and useless, exposed to expansion draft and who happened to end up playing regular minutes for multiple perrenial contenders.
That dogma of playing the kids and only the kids, even if noone is available at that position, that anyone close to or above 30 is automatically suspicious, it has really become a pattern amongst a certain group of users posting here.
He’s no gem but he’s not AMac, Manning, Friedman or the like that’s been on the back end in recent years.I really don’t want to watch Seeler all season. Is that too much to ask for?
I mean Sedlak can be useful and people can still question why he’s here exactly. He’s going to be 30 this year. What is the upside for a team that won’t be competitive? And he’s more likely to play up in the lineup as players get healthy.

100% - I don't think Sedlak has been bad, but I also don't understand his value to the club.Right. It makes no sense for where the team is. And for what? So he can pot five or fewer points?
I was told repeatedly that the team is rebuilding. That they're going to spend the year seeing what they have. This is the move of a team trying to compete, not do the other thing.
No one complained about PEB.
Non factor Bellemare the bum.. Complete trash'
That is still far too much for a garbage 13th forward
Pure ****ing garbage. Might as well be the same ********* Shelley contract all over again. He does nothing that younger cheaper players can't do.
Frenchy's last big hit was Farnham's face. Terrible move. Better off moving on and bringing up AHL'er.
People complaining about the contract is not necessarily complaining about the player.Yeah, they did.
Flyers haven't given a f*** about this the past 20+ years, why start now? We're thin at center and LW, while it's cute to field a team of all prospects, no matter how marginal or unprepared for the NHL, that only makes sense if you're aggressively tanking and don't care about screwing up the development of your better prospects - because unstructured play and constant losing is a toxic environment.
Who exactly is Sedlak blocking? Gauthier is still in college, Laczynski right now looks more suited to RW than center.

I said nothing of the sort. I've pointed to his first couple years in CBJ where he gradually worked prospects into the lineup after he established his scheme and philosophy. RIght now we have 6 forwards in the top 9 who are 25 or under, MacEwen is 26, Allison and Laczynski also getting steady PT at 25. At some point we'll see Lycksell again, and probably Foerster and Desnoyers in the spring if they keep playing well. There are only so many slots, and you don't want 3 rookies playing together. You repeatedly and lengthily assured us that because Tortorella is forcing Fletcher to rebuild and is actually in charge, Tortorella would not allow additions like Sedlak so we could see a parade of call-ups. You made it clear you firmly believe that would be the best path, and that thanks to the Tortorella Revolution it's the only path possible. Now the opposite of what you think is best is happening and you're defending it?

Sedlak isn't interfering with auditioning prospects, he's aiding it because most of our prospects are wings, so they need a competent center to showcase their skills.
This is not going to be a good team, but you want to stay competitive b/c constantly losing 4-1 and 5-2 isn't conducive to player development.
