Devils showing they’re no joke. Up 3-0.

Those fans who don’t watch the game are feeling very smug right now!

Vasilevskiy looks shaky too, but his team is doing better in front of him.

I mean Sammy would create doubt in the minds of the 1970s Montreal Canadiens. But I can’t imagine a worse group to have skating in front of a doubt creating machine than a Leafs team that has lost in the 1st round in a variety of gruesome ways for 6 straight years

I mean maybe there’s a good explanation for this. But if a guy is missing playoff games with no timetable to return I think it’s fair to suspect he might be involved in something bad.
It's not rocket science to connect the dots. He's procured the services of a particular agency and her employer is holding onto her passport. IF what she says is the truth.

And yeah, there is no way in hell he's out of the lineup for any reason OTHER than this one. Let's not be so naive...

Imagine how petrified the Leafs crowd is going to be for Game 7.

We know how that feels as Caps fans, but it’s going to be even worse for Leafs fans. Looking forward to it!

Acquiring Tarasenko and Kane was worth it for this closed caption mishap alone.

Maybe. But:

"
Seattle Police Department spokesperson Judinna Gulpan said there is no criminal investigation stemming from the incident. The police report notes that the woman hit the team doctor, but he did not want to press charges. A lieutenant with the Denver Police Department who was one of two officers traveling with the team told Seattle police that there were “no reports of any criminal interactions,” according to the incident report.

Avalanche coach Jared Bednar has said Nichushkin’s ongoing absence from the team is not disciplinary and not related to legal issues. When contacted by The Post a representative for Nichushkin reiterated that the team has made it clear his client is not with the team for personal reasons."
The quote raises the question: Do the Avs have a formal arrangement with the Denver PD to provide protection when they're on the road? Or do the Avs hire "moonlighting" Denver PD employees for this service? Regardless - and especially if the relationship is not through official municipal channels - I would take whatever the "lieutenant with the Denver Police Department" has to say with a grain of salt. S/he is expected to be circumspect and obfuscate any potentially incriminating facts.

The remaining Avs look to be on their way to the links soon anyway.

It makes me sick to my stomach that 2nd goal given up by Samsonov. Shades from the past for sure. You could just tell how deflating that goal was to the Leafs at that moment. The 3rd goal wasn't as bad but he was once again caught swimming without any idea where the puck is coming from. He made some good saves in the game but there are just too many moments during games where he just doesn't track the play very well and gets caught over-thinking and just loses control. So far in these series it's been Leafs being able to out-score him out of the those issues but in an elimination games that's just tough if Vasilevsky can find some sort of rhythm. He has been terrible so far but the Lightning will tighten things up in front of him for sure.

Will be an interesting rest of the series to watch for sure... the demonds are crawling back for the Leafs already. Interesting to see how they respond now with bit more balanced and older line-up.

I think they need to be careful about pursuing Scheifele as a trade target. Winnipeg’s leadership group has apparently been rotten for years and Scheifele is a prominent member of that group.

Not saying they shouldn’t pursue him as he is definitely a top 6 talent and could maybe be had for cheap. But I hope they do their due-diligence if they do look at him so they can avoid some potential headaches down the road.
