Clarkie comes back. Should definitely be of some help. Comets have 19 to go and the Schedule is loaded with teams in competition with them for playoff spots.

They have:

- 6 games with Syracuse of which 2 are on the last weekend and it ends in Syracuse.
- 4 games with Rochester.
- 2 games back to back with Laval in Laval
- 1 game with Division leader Toronto

That's 13 of the 19 remaining games.

Fitz said he was going to try to do something to help the Comets. He hasn't got much time. AHL.com today covered 3 trades in which AHL players were swapped. Would depend which end of the trades one was on to detrmine the teams getting the better end of the deals.

You keep posting in the wrong thread. This is good information but it isn't the AHL thread.

Looks like Cole Brady is starting for UMass against Boston College tonight in the Hockey East playoffs.

Statistically his senior year has been quite a disappointment, just 10 pts in 32 games.
For a player his size he plays a fairly quiet game. Even when he was with USA U20 team his role was that of checking line/defense first forward.

Imagine he signs an AHL deal. If that.

I was going to say the same. I think he would have to be happy playing in the AHL next season. Seems more like an overseas or ECHL next step right now.

I think despite a poor senior season that the Devils will sign him to an ELC; they don't have a lot coming and probably not a ton of interest from UDFAs.

Good for a 3 way tie for 10th on the team scoring list.

Obviously not getting help via playing with more talented offensive players, but also not creating much on his own.

Northern Michigan is hot at the right time and one game away from the NCAA tournament and Artem Shlaine is in the thick of things after transferring from UConn.

No points in last night's 4-0 win over UP rival Michigan Tech but he is the team's first line center and third-leading scorer.

The CCHA is considered a step down from Hockey East but it is where the Devils found Brian Halonen last year.

San Diego
Providence knocked out of Hockey East tournament and they're unlikely to make the bracket. So we'll see if the team signs Patrick Moynihan and/or gives him an AHL ATO for the rest of the season. Or perhaps he'll just stay in school and finish up his degree?

Shlaine , McCarthy (even if he doesn't play) and Luke all have a chance to win some hardware today.

Bad news is he won't be able to sign an ATO with the Comets. That broken collar bone essentially ends his season.
Signing can take place at any time. That's purely up to Fitz.

Michigan U won the Big 10 Championship over Minnesota 4-3.

Seamus Casey scored the tie goal in the 3rd.

Ethan Edwards assisted on Michigan's first goal evening it up at 1 in the 1st period.

Luke Hughes went pointless.

Next game for Michigan will be decided when the NCAA announces the 1st round pairings at 6:30 pm ET on ESPNU or ESPN+ tonight. It's a 16-team single-elimination tournament.

All of those listed below have earned automatic berths by winning their League Championship Tournaments.
BU - Hockey East Association
Michigan U - Big 10 Hockey Conference
Colgate U - Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference
St. Cloud State - National Collegiate Hockey Conference
Minn. St (Mankato) - Central Collegiate Hockey Association
Canisius College - Atlantic Hockey Association

WTF is up with Jayce Hawryluk? He only played 19 games with Belleville and put up 3G/8A/9 Pts. His contract runs out at the end of the season.

Is this guy injured like 2 of the other acquisitions NJ picked for the Comets? Dugan has only played 3 games for Chicago.

Only Ibragimov (LW/2G/3Pts/9GP) and Hayes (LD/1A/5GP) are healthy and playing. Both will be RFAs.

Hatakka (LD) is hurt and may not play until next season. Has 1 contract year remaining.
Hawryluk (RW/LW) and a VE by AHL rules is unknown. Will be a UFA
Emond (G) is out for the season and will be an RFA.

Comets needed Forward help more than anything especially at center.
They received 2 D, a goalie, an ECHL forward, a 27-yr-old wing.

Hawryluk is that wing, who has a .62 PPG in the AHL which is exactly the same as Jack Dugan who they traded away. A meaningless roster exchange.

Zack Hayes was the return for Dugan. He's a LD.
Comets LD:
Wotherspoon
Vukojevic
Groleau
Geertsen
Gourley
That crew can give the Comets a decent threesome every night.

Keeping Dugan and acquiring Hawryluk for futures would have been a much better deal especially if he was healthy. Dugan has only played 3 games for Chicago.

Igragimov (90), Hayes (65) Hatakka (68), Emond (1) and Hawryluk (8) are all listed on the roster.
Ibragimov - playing
Hayes - playing
Hatakka - possibly by the end of the season, but likely not until next year
Emond - out for the season
Hawryluk - ?
Of the 5 acquisitions NJ brought in only 2 are playing and both are downgrades from what was here. Essentially NJ did nothing to improve their farm and in fact weakened it.

*EDIT
This actually belongs on the Comets page. Sorry about that.
