NHL Prospect Roundup: Winnipeg Jets’ Brad Lambert is fired up
A WHL demotion has helped Lambert shine on the scoresheet after a quiet first half in the AHL.www.dailyfaceoff.com
Sweet pass by Pasic
Vindell is a seasoned vet who’s played 9 years in the SHL and 11 years in the KHL.Not to state the obvious, but Allsvenskan is not exactly loaded with players on their way to an NHL career.
Pasic's teammate Linus Videll , the league's second-leading scorer, is 37 years old and has only twice scored 20 goals in a season before this year.
I watched 2-4 may be 5 or so games of Pasic... like three years ago. Now I don't remember correctly. Feeling like it was in my childhood.Vindell is a seasoned vet who’s played 9 years in the SHL and 11 years in the KHL.
Pasic has actually played a total of 58 SHL games since he was 17 and he played a full season in the SHL at age 20 in 20-21.
His 52 GP 15 points (7G 8A) in 20-21 was 15th for U21 players and 19th in PPG (0.29). And he played on one of the worst and lowest scoring teams in the SHL.
He then had a tough 2021-22 season that really seemed to derail his chances as prospect.
He was scoreless for 13 games on that bad SHL team. He then got traded to HockeyAllsvenskan that was doing even worse (Södertälje SK won the relegation playoffs last year).
I don’t know what happened with all of that but he’s having a great season this year.
Södertälje SK isn’t part of some bigger club with a SHL team that would promote him so he can only blow up HockeyAllsvenskan.
He’s one of two player’s carrying his team offensively and they’ve gone from the basement to 4th place.
I put some write ups about him below, some of which is amusingly contradictory, but he’s was seen as a long term project with a lot of skill and excellent skating in 2019.
I think he’s probably worth signing, it would just be a 2 year ELC and if it goes sideways it could be terminated so he could go back to Sweden. It’s not about planning his role on the Devils, the first step would be to see if he could provide some offense for Utica.
2nd underway
Dugan with a breakaway. He's stopped Talvitie tries to shoot the rebound and the puck comes out to the LW boards and DUGAN rips it and it beats the keeper trying to get across.
2-1 UticaComets to the PP at 3:50.
Dugan a shot.
Wlash a shot.
Dugan from the right side sendsa cross ice pass to Halonen who 1-times it-----------------------IN----------------G-O-A-L!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#-1 Comets
Belleville scores and it's immediately waved off.
Puck went in off the Ref's face. NO GOAL.
End o the 2nd
SOG 14-9 Utica
2-period total 26-20 Utica
Catching up.
“Puck went in off the Ref's face. NO GOAL.”
Lol, that doesn’t count?
Wonder if trading Mukhamadullin and Okhotiuk indicates Devils will sign Case when BU season ends. Will be interesting to see what the Devils do with McCarthy with so many defenders turning pro. Just by guys under contract, next year looks something like:
Siegenthaler - Hamilton
Smith - Marino
Hughes - Bahl
Okhoituk
———
Wotherspoon - Nemec (Yr 2)
Mukhmadullin (Yr 1) - Walsh (RFA)
Vilen (Yr 1) - Vukojevic
Going to be a lot of rookie defenders in the pipeline next year. There’s a case to be made McCarthy may go elsewhere rather than be another rookie defneder in Utica.
I understand that some NCAA years can help, but I don`t see why we can`t offer him AHL money now and cook him in AHL. NCAA doesnt look really competitive for him anymore really.Wonder if trading Mukhamadullin and Okhotiuk indicates Devils will sign Case when BU season ends.
