Last time we attempted to tank early in the season ended in a parade, so maybe that works again
that team had depth though and was mainly sucking ass due to poor goaltending. this team has a bottom 6 of pure hot garbage that shouldnt even be in the NHL, "stars" like Kyrou who are a joke and a defense that plays kitten soft.

It would really take some doing to out-suck teams who have been clear in their intent to suck shit this year (Sharks, Montreal, Chicago, Phoenix). Plus teams like Philly, Seattle, and CBJ who are going to be down there too. But, they are doing a hell of a job of it so far.
Looking ahead at the schedule for the rest of the month, we have SJ, WSH, ANA x2 and DAL at home. We have BOS, PHI, VGK, COL, CHI, BUF, TB and FLA on the road. Unless we see a serious turnaround, a 5-8-0 record over the remainder of the month might be the best-case scenario. That would leave us at 8-14-0 going into December which probably puts us bottom 5 in the league with over a quarter of the schedule behind us. I think that puts us in serious seller territory.

That said, we have a good-to-great collection of individual players that are doing a piss poor job of playing as a team right now. If they can get a win or two under their belts they could use that confidence to turn this around fast, but the schedule always looks daunting when you're looking up in the standings at everyone on it.

Nice that the boys have the weekend off. Three more nights of the rest of the league piling up points and separating themselves from the basement dwelling Blues. Maybe if they come to work on Monday and see literally every team in the league looking down upon them in the standings, they'll have a little pride and decide it's time to stop screwing around.

And if they get fired up, pissed off and still get their butts kicked on this road trip, I think you've just got to....give it another month. And if in another month they still suck, the Blues should...wait another month. But if by mid January this team is still hopelessly inept, you probably at that point need to...give it another month. Trade deadline is March 3, there's waaaaay too much time to write this season off. Phone-lines will be burning in February though if this shit is still happening by then.

For sheer entertainment purposes, I'll take a total loss of a season every five years or so, whether due to injury, bad luck or being Yeo'd by the bench-boss. Especially if there's a real shot of getting a franchise altering talent at the top of the draft. But I imagine they'll be too good to be a lottery team and will eventually rattle off 7 wins in 9 games and blow past the Sharks, Ducks, Jackets and Yotes once they find their legs (and brains). I'll chalk up the slow start to veterans needing time to get back into rhythm, but it's very obvious the Blues aren't as talented or deep as they've been in years past.

I'll admit I know nothing of Bedard but from what I have learned here on this board is that he's 5'9 and far to small to be of any use to the Blues so we should not draft him.

Only two Blues have a +/- greater than zero. Without cheating and looking it up, I can’t imagine anyone would be able to correctly guess those two guys, considering their reputations to this point. LOL.

What a goofy start to the season. High entertainment value for sure. A+ for intrigue, Blues. Nicely done.

My guesses are Bortuzzo and Tarasenko, but I looked it up and it's not.

I don't know who, so im gonna check after this post. But I'm gonna shit a brick if one is Krug.

Edit: Barbie Girl and Mikkola. Barbie isn't crazy. But would never have guessed Mikkola.

I would have thought Saad since he's missed most or all of the losing streak.

I knew one was Mikkola. I have said multiple times he is the only D we have who stays at home and can clean the net. I wasn't happy when he was benched. Even Bortuzzo is chasing the play.

Guessed Buchnevich on the other because he missed some games where we were bad. He's at 0. Barby would have been my 4th guess after Pitlick (-1).

Practice lines are

Saad-RoR-Barbie
Buchnevich-Thomas-Tarasenko
Neighbors-Schenn-Kyrou
Toropchenko-Acciari-Walker

Leddy-Parayko
Krug-Faulk
Mikkola-Bortuzzo

Hopefully Saad can pull RoR's play out of the grave. And hopefully the Defense can stop playing like they are afraid of the puck.

I was hoping they'd put Pitlick up with ROR instead of Acciari.. has looked pretty good so far

If a vet has been talking to Kyrou repeatedly to no avail my guesses would be Schenn first then Faulk. Just speculation just based on thinking about which vets have standing and are playing well enough.

Seriously, what the hell is up with the Blues schedule this season? No game on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? Has this ever happened before?

They're playing shitty, but I'd still like to see a friggin' game.
wow.. I just assumed they were playing tonight.. unbelievable

then 4 games in 6 days.. ugh

Looking at the schedule, I wonder at what point Army has to make a more drastic decision. We have games against the Sharks, Hawks, and 2 against the Ducks, if those games go poorly, then something has to happen. The last game in that stretch is 11/21 against the Ducks. Also in that stretch we face either really good teams or teams with decent records like Boston, Colorado, Vegas, Philly, and Washington, so we should assume we are not coming away with many points from that group.

If we can't collect the vast majority of the available points in the Sharks/Hawks/Ducks games, then we'll be dangerously close to being in too deep of a hole to recover from. And we'd then be in a position that I posted about before where everything about the season went horribly wrong, pieces should be moved and we start thinking about next season.

Starting Monday we have 13 games in 22 days, no 2 day breaks, 3 back to backs. 8 on the road, 5 at home. This is likely the most grueling section of our schedule and we're heading into it with a 6 game losing streak while being outscored 30-10. Sink or swim.
