I don't think it's possible for Thompson to score an ugly goal
I dunno man...he's just so exceptionally smooth and deceptive. Guys his size aren't supposed to do the things he's doing on a nightly basis.Tage Thompson is a classic case of regression where we wonder next year what happened to the guy after his hot season this year. I mean he does play for Buffalo so...
I could be wrong, he could actually stay hot and be consistent every year, but it feels like he might actually regress next year and mainly because I don't trust Buffalo to be consistently a good team.I dunno man...he's just so exceptionally smooth and deceptive. We are lucky he went to Edmonton, otherwise his team would be cup favorites every year.McDavid has 72 points in 37 games
This is Mario Lemieux territory.
He's never been a ppg player before. His highest total was last year with 68 pts in 78 games - .871 pts/game. It's safe to say at this time that this year is an outlier. That's not to say he can't continue on this torrid pace and be a consistent ppg player, but his history suggests he could well regress.I dunno man...he's just so exceptionally smooth and deceptive. That's what people thought would happen with him this year. The opposite happened.Tage Thompson is a classic case of regression where we wonder next year what happened to the guy after his hot season this year. I mean he does play for Buffalo so...
We shall see!I could be wrong, he could actually stay hot and be consistent every year, but it feels like he might actually regress next year and mainly because I don't trust Buffalo to be consistently a good team.
Every star player has their breakout season at some point. Obviously the pace he's on now is pretty ridiculous, so if his point totals drops next year that won't be a huge surprise. Selfishly though I hope this is the player we get for the rest of his career. He's just so much fun to watch. He's never been a ppg player before. Makes sense, he grew up in Quebec city as a Nords fan.Did you guys know that Bergeron is a big Sakic and Forsberg fan? And I believe he said he was an Avs fan also. Heard him say that in an interview the other day
Yea. I hear that. I don't wish a regression on him. He seems unorthodox to be doing what he is, so I kind of want that to continue. But on the other side of a star player breakout year coin is just a career year.Every star player has their breakout season at some point. Yup, but I believe he also said he didn't like it at first when Quebec moved to Colorado but he also became an Avs fan. I may have heard wrong, but I think that's what he saidMakes sense, he grew up in Quebec city as a Nords fan.

Bergeron 2C behind MacKinnon making 2.5 mill. What could have been better?Yea, he has listed Sakic as a role model for him while he was growing up. I really wish we could have convinced Bergeron to join the Avs, he’s one of my favourite players and just so damn smart when he’s out there
This.. it clicked roughly a third of the way into last year. His performance this season is simply an extension of what he figured out he could do.Tage's breakout year was last year
The only thing Mackinnon has on Mcdavid now is he has a better slapshot. McDavid is a better scorer, passer, skater etc. Its too bad Edmonton has no idea how to build a team around him.McDavid has 72 points in 37 games

Shut upI don't think it's possible for Thompson to score an ugly goal
Hes not on a hot streak. Hes simply this good and it started last year. Guy had 36-37 goals? Hes just figured it out and what hes figured out is hes bigger and more skilled than 90% of the people defending him in this league.Tage Thompson is a classic case of regression where we wonder next year what happened to the guy after his hot season this year. Was he playing in 1994, aye?Ovi with his signature shot for his 25th. Does anyone have any doubt that he would have already had the record if not for 3 lockouts and a pandemic?
We would be talking about goal 1000.Ovi with his signature shot for his 25th. Does anyone have any doubt that he would have already had the record if not for 3 lockouts and a pandemic?
