Miller flippantly dismissed any criticism in about the douchiest way possible.
He finished answering the question with "I don't give a....I don't care"

Sure didn't sound like he's gonna change anytime soon. They are screwed.

And this is why the guy has been traded twice and in all likelihood will be traded a 3rd time fairly soon.

You don't win with players like J.T. Miller. He's as "me first" as they come.
I'd take him for one playoff run at 50% of his current contract (5.25 AAV).

But like I said, before the trade I'd need a handshake agreement with a 3rd team (and Miller) to have a place to ship him next summer. I want no part of that 7 X 8M contract.

That's obviously as unlikely as it gets.

Pretty sure that's impossible anyways, you can't retain just one year of a contract. If the Canucks retain 50% it'd be for another 7 years.

Those are 2 different contracts though. They'd only retain on the last year of his current contract (that one expires at the end of the season).

When Tom Wilson and Nicklas Backstrom come back from injury the Capitals will have free 2 roster spots. It could lead to NAK being back on waivers.

Both players could be back this month.

Wasn't it rumored that the Isles were close on getting JT miller at the draft? How would Lou put up with him?

There have been many 'me first' players that have won titles, and plenty of assholes who have too. That wouldn't bother me all that much about Miller... what bothers me is his inconsistent efforts, especially defensively.

This is an absolute gem of a deal.

Yet another gem Tampa pulled out of their asses...this time in the 6th round. Their amateur scouting is on another level

Miller had a bad rep stretching back to his Rangers days. Maybe some amplification going on but not much.
The rep was there but it was never to this level. It's clearly being amplified due to the whole situation in VAN. Again not saying he's a saint but you can easily win with guys like that, they just can't be the main leader in the locker room.

That's what I mean by 'me first' when it comes to Miller. He is seemingly above doing things that help the team win, but god forbid someone makes what he perceives as a mistake and he loses his mind.

I would not be able to play on that team with him. It'd be a fight almost daily because of how lazy and entitled he is.

I didn't think it was cold enough in Seattle during the winter to do outdoor games.

If they can do outdoor games in California, Nevada (though that one was obviously a tad problematic), and Texas, they can certainly do one in the Pacific Northwest. I think the humidity presents a bigger obstacle than the temperature, but that could be probably be mitigated.

If it's anything like Vancouver it's rainy as f*** during the winter with humidity cranked up to 10.

I mean part of it is I'm sure. I'm not saying Miller isn't a douche. He is a douche. Just that it's amplified due to the off ice issues and roster construction in Vancouver.

I'd take him at 50% retention, unless that is happening cheap, he's Vancouver's problem. Contract, attitude and everything in between lol.

They can keep the dome closed until game day… unless it rains, it’ll be fine there
