People cant grasp the concept that “overrated” and “bad” are not the same thing. Same as with Provorov.

I don’t think anyone is angry if Jones comes here for $4m as a FA and plays on the second pair. But trading tons of assets, severely overpaying him, and then force-feeding the guy #1 usage makes him do more damage than good.

It wouldn't surprise me if him and Provorov on the top pair would work but you can't tie up ~16 million on 1 pairing. Hypothetically if they kept Sanheim and Myers you'd be looking at over 22 million for the top two pairings which I guess is normal in the NHL but it really doesn't mix and match the idea of sticking a #1 and a #1/2 on two different pairings.

Dreger reporting that Ducks aren’t as in on Eichel as believed. Also saying Chicago is more interested in defense. Flyers weren’t mentioned but if they aren’t a back door team to try and steal Eichel ima be done with these fools.

Personally I have some reservations on Eichel given his neck injury which probably is somewhat of a hold up for teams. It's a lot of assets and cap space that could be tied up if he was to LTIR because of it.

Missed an important piece said it was heating up

I’ve accepted the fact that we end up trading more for Jones than whatever Eichel goes for.

I have a soft spot for Myers. I know the flaws to his game, but I maintain with better coaching he can bring a lot more to an NHL lineup than what we have seen last year.

For Myers in particular, a guy that definitely has the legs to be able to skate a puck out and in transition, to have him simply immediately flinging picks out as is by design - is taking away what I believe to be a real possible strength.

He’s one guy I kind of fear they have given up on, but I really believe he can make something of himself. Perhaps it’s best for the player however to start afresh, because they seem fixated on pigeon holing guys into this mystical system.

Eh... a lot of people frown on people who are vegetarian/vegan in this country. They act like it's some sort of cultist idea.

Wanky and I have some ongoing canon about him being a vegetarian.

I filly respect people's right to choose to take up that lifestyle. Except his, obviously.

Funny, I haven’t checked there for a long ass time - but found this gem from Meltzer.

“The Flyers' scouting staff, Grundberg says, places a lot of emphasis on two-way players. Sometimes, a team has to trade off a little bit of offensive upside to get a more well-rounded player.”

Obviously the focus on two way isn’t with every pick but just made me chuckle. I’m not as high on the Flyers scouts perhaps as some others.

Well Sanhero is an expert in all things soft am I right!?

Definitely sleeps on a plush, and pillow top.

Funny story, when I first moved out years ago I decided to buy a new bigger mattress. To try and cheap out, got a floor model (non returnable) one for like 350$.

Slept on it two nights. Felt like I was beaten like that first guy to cry in Shawshank.

Threw it in the dumpster down the lane. Some kid probably lit it on fire that evening. Woke up the next day, and walked by it’s remains with a smirk.

f*** you shitty mattress. f*** you.

The fact that the Flyers love 2 way players isn't some woke fantasy though. It's been know since Hextall was here.
