I don’t really see Landy leaving Colorado and breaking up a dynamite first line. I see both sides getting something done but I guess we’ll see.

I wouldn't blame the Avs for passing on Landeskog. They need to get their goaltending secured, they need a 2C, they to sign Makar this summer, and they need to sign MacKinnon long term.
Almost no successful teams roll an embarassment-of-riches first line, and Landeskog is clearly the third wheel to MacK and Mikko.

Zito and crew clearing up all that dead weight.
Only one final boss to get rid of but that may take a couple years to wait out

I will believe Stralman to ARZ when I see it. Anton still has a 16 team no-trade list, and he only has the $1m signing bonus before being due $4.5m in salary this year. Not sure why Stralman would agree to be dumped there, and I doubt Arizona would be interested in him unless we're giving up something of real value.

I don't want to be mistaken for @TeslaCoilFan but I don't really get the Stralman hate? He was the 2nd best Panthers dman in the playoffs (granted this says a lot about their defensive struggles) and I have always found him pretty good when healthy. Yeah he's significantly overpaid but this year Florida's A-ok cap wise and they would also need to replace him. I don't know why Florida would give up anything of significance, and there'd be no reason for Arizona, a franchise with financial issues, to take that $$$ on unless it's for anything of significance.

The only way it makes sense is if he LTIRetires as insurance and not Arizona would pay his salary. But i have heard nothing indicating he's not coming back.

He makes too much money for a bottom pairing dman. It’s clear Zito wants to ship him out to make room for someone more worth it. I don’t mind him as a player, he’s steady. Just too expensive.

Ya, no issues with Stralman. He's just an aging d-man but he showed he can still contribute in a valuable way in the playoffs, I just don't think that value is $5 million.

If the Panthers do end up keeping him I won't be angry, he's still serviceable and one year doesn't kill us.

I agree that there's no reason to give up assets to get rid of Stralman.
We have plenty of cap for the last year of his contract, and I'd actually really like him as the 7D.

That does mean I want Nutivaara gone though. Only one of them can stay.

Has anybody heard a peep on the Wennberg front?
I'm under the impression that we're rolling with Barkov - Bennett - Lundell - Luostarinen down the middle with Acciari on RW.
But if Zito can get Wennberg at <$2.5m and neither he nor Q see Luostarinen as a roster player for whatever reason, then I'd hope Wennberg comes back.

I like Wenny but I dont think he wants to be in the bottom 6 and definently not our 4C.

No room unless Lundell isnt ready at camp and he is still unsigned. Lots of competition in our bottom 6 for once.

Zito may retain a bit but I agree, Stralman wouldn't want to move across country when he's been in TB/FLA the last 6-7 years. Doesn't make much sense unless Zito is adding a top 6 F and top 4 D and needs Stralman's cap off the books.

He's good depth, not in a hurry to move him unless said above, Zito is going BIG and getting a top 6 F and top 4 D.
He'll get maintenance days here and there and can still log 18-19 mins a game.

Im so thankful we have Zito. Dude just keeps on killin’ it.

Zito should be aggressive the next few years. We gotta take advantage of this next 4-5 year window (while Lundell, Tippett/Deni/Knight/LD prospects are on ELC's), curious to see him make a big move because Tallon would never pull the trigger.
Need this young core to experience consistent playoffs and what it takes to get to 2nd round and beyond.

IIRC, weren’t a few of his goals fairly fluky?

Yeah, I said about a week ago I thought Strals would be moved with a pick. Top Shelf Hockey is legit, he just pieces together info from a bunch of of different sources but he does it better than anyone. That was out there in the general consciousness and he called that one.

Garland is who I’ve wanted. Tank would be nice, but I’d rather go after Garland. We’d be so deep up front. And with an addition on the backend, which we know Zito will add, I think we become serious contenders next season.

I’d kill for garland. That’s exactly the type of player zito would want. Complete heart and soul guy who works his ass off every shift, and he’s good!

if they keep Verhaeghe-Duclair together, imagine a second line of Huberdeau-Garland. God I’d love that. Please get him Zito

Garland would be a dream acquisition. The dude has been misused at times in Arizona and still found success.

He would breakout big time in Florida.

One thing is certain. Next season is huge in terms of the big contract extensions coming up assuming Barky isn’t resigned before it starts. This fan base needs to be rejuvenated with success

that will go a long way to signing big deals with Barlow and Huby
