With Russo suspended the Comets will have no RHD available tonight. Not ideal but they have to bear down and get through it.

Over incidental contact? It was head on head, but it wasn't anything close to a headbutt like Darnell Nurse.

At least Bahl, Okhotiuk, Mukhamadullin, and Groleau have all played on the right side.

Gourley time.

Clarke did do something.

Based on what I've seen this series I think Schmid gives the Comets a better chance to win. Daws gave up a goal on the first shot he faced in both games that he played. Can't start each game behind by a goal right from the start and expect to win.
I'm with you 100%. I think the organization has always been higher on Daws and they'll say he gives the team a better chance to win. Shaya said Schmid is better when Daws is around due to the friendship they've built. Tom Fitzgerald was in the buliding for Game 3. I think Brodeur would start Daws if it's up to him.

You may want to do a little research before making such posts.

The numbers Fiala put up at the same age are less than Holtz' including no points in three AHL playoff games.

Bill Guerin would take Holtz off the Devils hands in a heartbeat (alleviating his own team's cap issues while building a bright future).

Fitz could rightfully be tarred and feathered if he made such a move.

The last thing the Devils need are TWO Jesper Bratts.
I am not stat watching, but game watching. And to me Holtz doesn't not look like a play that can succeed at the NHL level. For many reasons.

At the moment in full agreement. However, as a kid who wouldn't even have been able to play pro hockey if he was a Canadian Jr, it's way too soon to say "he doesn't look like a player that can succeed at the NHL level." As a 19-yr-old that would be correct.

I believe, and have said such, he should spend next season in the AHL working on those "For many reasons" you didn't list, but are there. Marty said they are at a point where they don't need to rush players and putting him into the every day lineup in NJ would be doing just that. Putting him on the roster and carrying him as 13/14 forward would be even worse. The kid has to play and be motivated to do the things he has pointed out to him that he does not do and that which has to stop doing. There is too much raw talent showing there to allow him to become only half developed before going back to Europe.

Not every NHL 1st rounder comes into his own at the drop of the puck in the NHL on day 1 of his pro career. At his age most either go back to Jrs or play another season, and maybe 2, back in their home country. The Canadian Jr then goes to the AHL his 1st pro season. Only the truly super gifted, blue chip, can't miss guys go straight to the NHL and many of them struggle for a couple of seasons as well a la Alexis Lafreniere.

Patience has to be shown with Holtz. It's a good thing HF posters don't run the team. They are way too presumptuous in their promoting players to the NHL as well as declaring others as busts and urging their deportation.

Hey, if the Rochester phantom own goal scored by Quinn's kick is changed from Talvitie to Clarke, the statistics will show him to have been more productive than Halonen to this point going into tonight's elimination game.

This is the correct take. Holtz is not ready now like most (or probably all) of us would like. That doesn’t mean he won’t be ready in a few years or maybe even next season.

Besides, he just played a full season in the second hardest league on earth. Kid’s gassed, probably injured too. It’s all part of the process.

The Comets do have a semblance of a forecheck so far. Must keep up this type of intensity.

Deleo wraparound and Greer couldn't make contact with the puck up in the air.

Holtz tries too much alone. Has to learn how to play with others.

Gambardella played the puck in his own end twice like a hot potato. Move your damn feet and headman it with some force.

3:59 to go TV TO

Refs have not lost their whistles. They simply don't have any. Have missed calls both ways all period. Can't all of a sudden decide to call some little thing on a whim.

An early game premonition?

Comets are back checking imediately preventing the Amerks from their speed break outs.

Daws is not a good puck handler. Gives too many pucks away unnecessarily.

Comets doing their late period slacking.
