Connor McDavid's Oilers could barely squick an extra point tonight. Lots of emotional reactions from a few frustrating games (trust me I know, I put a hole in my wall).

That being said. Rocking 4 rookies had us riding the Oilers for a majority of this game. We are a good team with the most bodies missing from the blue line in the NHL. Everyone is going to be back. And the oilers look real beatable, don't they?

I can only come to the conclusion that Todd doesn't see at least half the game from his vantage point on the bench and that if he watched a few games on TV he would see what obvious to the rest of us right?

RIGHT???

With only 11 forwards, two guys still played 8 minutes. Unreal. Iafallo limps his way to a minus 2 and gets 22 minutes. Moverare should never have been dressed tonight, he's far too slow to play against the Oilers at home.
I caught the game a little late was there a reason why the Kings only had 11 forwards?

When he was out with covid he said watching from his own TV at home gave him a different perspective. Yeah...

Yeah I'm really curious what his definition of production is if it doesn't include goals or assists.
He's trying to make a point that the 1st line is playing against the other teams top line. Thats just pathetic. They arent shutting down anyone, and they arent scoring. A 1st line is supposed to do both - and more often than not, they score and arent necessarily the best line for D.. this line is attrocious in both. Its a very legitimate question to ask about production .. and he gave a flimsy answer.

Man, the forwards and the defense are like a tale of two different coaches. Carl Grundstrom, 7:42, 1 goal, 1 assist, +3, 2 hits, zero power play time.

On the flip side, shout out to Durzi and Bjornfot for playing 26 and 20 minutes respectively, huge games from them (even in a loss) against the two best players in the world. Can't ask for much more from those two.

This was a game of inches and we lost with an injured team. That's how it goes sometimes, but man, the coaches make this so frustrating.

That's curious considering that line was cumulatively -4.

I think this goes back to when they added Danault, it was clearly stated that he was going to get more offensive opportunities, rather than being relied on defensively. So, Kopitar has still been relied on to take the heavy defensive responsibilities(whether right or wrong), while Danault has been given easier assignments. The issue is that we should have been doing the opposite, Kopitar is still putting up points, but can't keep up with the other speedy number 1 centers he used to. Danault, with his eased load, is not producing nearly as much as Kopitar, which should have been expected when he was signed. Kopitar is far more offensively gifted than Danault and we should have been easing his workload as he ages, taking advantage of those skills.
