Wish the reporter threw that at himThat's curious considering that line was cumulatively -4.

And that’s the bottom line. This team is doing pretty well all things considered, but they could be doing so much better with even mediocre coaching and that’s the frustrating part.Man, the forwards and the defense are like a tale of two different coaches. Carl Grundstrom, 7:42, 1 goal, 1 assist, +3, 2 hits, zero power play time.
On the flip side, shout out to Durzi and Bjornfot for playing 26 and 20 minutes respectively, huge games from them (even in a loss) against the two best players in the world. Can't ask for much more from those two.
This was a game of inches and we lost with an injured team. That's how it goes sometimes, but man, the coaches make this so frustrating.
I like checking these out. Still unsure how much I trust these numbers, considering how I don't know the calculations/data. But it's still interesting to see it all align.Man, the forwards and the defense are like a tale of two different coaches. Carl Grundstrom, 7:42, 1 goal, 1 assist, +3, 2 hits, zero power play time.

If I had to choose between the Oilers, Flames, or Avs, it would be the Oilers clearly.Connor McDavid's Oilers could barely squick an extra point tonight. Lots of emotional reactions from a few frustrating games (trust me I know, I put a hole in my wall).
That being said. Rocking 4 rookies had us riding the Oilers for a majority of this game. We are a good team with the most bodies missing from the blue line in the NHL. Everyone is going to be back. And the oilers look real beatable, don't they?

Couldn't agree more but we all know who coaches this team. As soon as those two are back Bye bye Kupari and Vilardi. As much as I like AA and grateful for DB - the Kings third line for the future is set. They are goners.
Which would be understandable if he were 28 years old. That McLellan press conference depressed the shit out of me, as he's clearly going to just ride that Kopitar line the rest of the season while crossing his fingers something changes.
I caught the game a little late was there a reason why the Kings only had 11 forwards?

WTF happened to Iafallo?
Overall, his 5 on 5 production isn't that far off from last year.
But 23 games 0-4-4???
The first 44 games he went 14-14-28 - which is about what you'd expect, right?
WTF happened?
2fold.
1. TM does not like Lias. He's never given him a real chance to be used on offense. If he puts him in and he does not play a perfect 4th line type game, he scratches him the next game. You can tell when he has talked about him, he does not like him. Lias would have a better chance here if he was born in Saskatoon and had no skill; he would then have a better chance here. TM prefers him in Ontario, where Lias is properly used and scores 6 goals in 4 games. 2 of them with between the legs goals, that Lias says is easy to pull off. (if you have elite hands and can put pucks in the net)
2. I think Edler is not up to speed yet and by dressing 7 D, he can give less minutes to whomever is the weakest link of the game - probably non-100% Edler or Moverare.
You can also tell he loves Alex and gives him an A, when he has no game at all - FOR 2 MONTHS.
You can tell he does not think much of Carl, when he has a beastly goal, hits that Oiler behind the net
and takes the puck, goes around the net and buries that puck. Something Alex cannot do. (physically dominating an opponent and going straight to the net and burying it) When asked about the 2 key goals, seconds apart to tie the game, he calls that "3 minutes of offense - or 2 minutes" (it was 14 seconds) and downplays Carl's effort and PRODUCTION on that crucial game tying goal as less important than the Byfield goal. Insane.
Oh, and the big word 'definition' escapes him.
It doesn’t take Scotty Bowman to realize that Iafallo should not be playing the role he is currently playing on this team.Everyone still with us, watching this thread last night you would think LA got their head pounded in and lost by 2 touch downs......
BTW, I love how everyone in here assumes coaching is just so damned easy, that...that's the real amusing part. You guys get to watch the games, listen to some press conferences, maybe catch a practice or two if you are that die hard, and assume you know every single thing that's going on.....just.....interesting that type of frame of mind, it's like you get to see 5 pieces of a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, and you 100% know what that puzzle is, despite not having the picture.

The worst forward on the team the last 1/3 of the season is playing 1st line, #1 PP, PK, 4 on 4, 3 on 3. Is this some kind twisted joke by the coaching staff?
How do you justify sending out a useless winger to take an offensive zone face off in a 4 on 4 situation against arguably the two best players in the league?
People have a legit gripe about the usage of many players on this team. The fact that usage of forwards is a unifying topic on a board where no one agrees on anything should tell you all you need to know.
If you’re consistently alone in your opinion it means no one cares about them.Like I said, you are seeing 5 puzzle pieces....just like I am, here's the difference, I recognize the things I don't know. Team Chemistry, what happens in the lockerroom, the team meetings, off the ice, I have no f***ing clue about that shit, only know that it matters.
I mean for f*** sake, best player in the league, ever, Gretzky, played with Krushelnsyki......
But we tried Arvidsson, didn't work, Kaliyev, un determined if that works or not, he seems to have better chemistry with the younger players, not a big surprise there, we tried Fagemo, no one wants to pony up what it would take to get a higher skilled player there, so what else is there?
I'm not arguing that Iafallo has been good, I'm saying most of us on this board don't know the actual details of what is going on, so you can continue to be pissed over the things you don't know, or you can recognize you don't know them and move on.
