Even Ovie doesn't get the full two minutes on the PP and he's the closest one to that arguably the best PP player ever. Draisiatl and McDavid get about 80% of the PP time. I like Kaliyev a lot but he's not even in the same stratosphere as those guys.

We are sitting at 17% PP which includes lot's of lucky bounces
At this point we might as well use one of the arena's hot dog salesmen.
It can't get much worse

$2.7m vs. $725k is the most likely answer. If you'd like Frk on the team though, you know, given a healthy roster, that one of the young guys won't be here. I'm surprised Frk was sent down anyway, with his 1 way deal. Same with Wagner.

I don't remember Lemieux doing much with the team last year that got anyone excited. I'm almost sure his lack of being Lemieux after coming here actually concerned some people over the giving up of an asset for him more than anything else.

Seattle could've taken Quick, our boy Clague, Moverare, Strand, Wolanin, AA, Frk, Grundstrom, Lizotte, or Lemieux, and they didn't. At least the Kings aren't the Kraken, and our former HoF player playing GM isn't quite as stupid as their former HoF player playing GM.

The fact that Francis was stubborn to not weaponize cap space and make awful expansion decisions does not excuse Blakes inability to see how much we needed a player like Lemieux in the lineup. And don't get me started on Gostisbehere. What a missed opportunity to send a player i.e Wagner to Philly after Ghost was waived, and finally get a dynamic PP LD man.

Don't understand how it takes years to realize what we need, when other teams fill in holes as soon as they come up. I wished Yzerman played here so he can be the GM.

The one main positive I distinctly remember at the end of last year once we acquired Lemieux was how genuinely excited he was for our guys. He brings emotion, something this team is so sorely lacking. Kopitar's (and Brown's) apathy-driven leadership style isn't the thing legends are made of.

Throw in Norstrom into the lot too while you're at it. The idea of some badass captain who'll beat you up if you do anything is so played out. Only a handful of guys fit that mold in the first place, that's it. The thing is NOBODY knows what's said in the locker room with either of those guys as captain. Let's not forget who appointed Kopitar to captain...Sutter. He threw a hissy fit to the point where he told DL he wouldn't resign unless he got to pick HIS OWN GUY. DL caved.

Getting torched [I can't believe I just said that] by Matt fricking Luff was comical. From his turnover, to the halfass back check, to getting the best view of the goal.

Matt Luff couldn't catch up to the play to do a single thing in several years here, but last night he opened up like a 15 foot gap on Kopitar.

f***ing embarassing, bench yourself.

I really hope he doesn't walk. Lemieux has brought life into this team

Well yeah, it could, but there's certainly ways to improve it as well. Playing a guy for a two minute shift, even on the powerplay, is not one of them.

Given those options at the time, if I didn't pick McDermid I think I would have taken Grundstrom, which says about all it needs to about the value of those players at that time. Odds are Seattle wanted us to fork over a pick to take Quick and we didn't take the bait thankfully.

I still think the Kings need another 4-5 game win streak coming up to really get deep in the mix for the playoffs. But lately they have been on the better side of win 2 lose 1 unlike last season which was lose 2 win 1.

quite the gap

that frustrated me because he was coming back but if you watch the video, once he crossed the blue line he was literally just staring at the puck, not paying any attention at all to that side of the ice

like, he did the hard part then completely lapsed on the easy part. gutted it out at the end of a long shift to get back but didn't finish the job

Its good when he open his eyes and actually looks where he's shooting. Unfortunately, that's not very often. He probably has the slowest release out of any of the top dmen in the league. If you compare Duzi and Doughty it's not even close. With Durzi, it's off of his stick as soon as he gets it, where Doughty has a built in 2 second delay, just long enough for a defender to get in the way.

yeah, thats what I love about Durzi the most....the kid is decisive and quick about it

Kopitar is not a 1st line center.

He was gassed multiple times last night including the end when he was double shifted.

He should be playing about 17 minutes per night.

Kopi gets a bum rap because the organization has done such a crappy job finding his replacement. They didn't even have to find another HOF caliber player, even a guy like Barzal would have the fanbase saying how nice it is to have a guy like Kopitar on the 2nd line. Kopitar turns 35 this year, we should be thankful he is still able to play at a 2nd line level, many players were long cooked by then. He is obviously getting way worse, especially defensively, but that was going to happen.

Our fanbase shouldn't blame Kopi that he is on the 1st line at his age.

If they are out of the playoffs what would you think of putting him on the wing and running Kopitar-Byfield-Kempe? Hed have less responsibility and could maybe focus on getting pucks to the net a bit more like Kempe has since changing to wing. Hed probably score a bunch. And the games dont matter at that point so experimenting with combinations for the next season is the goal.
