Bidding war for a young, cost effective, stud LHD. Is what it is.holy overpayment
Kings don’t have to do it but if a trade goes down it will hurt a little.

Does anyone else keep getting a funny feeling that we will be acquiring Fiala from cap-strapped Minnesota?
on god i'll become a kraken fan
You’ll be doing Kraken lineups and accidentally sprinkling in some Kings youth without even realizing it.
Fairly sure if Chychrun were ever put on the trade block it wouldn't just be the Kings bidding on him.
Yes, but Kings have the best prospects.
There is no reason to give the best ones when other teams do not have similar value for trade.
We have some great prospects. We do not have all of the top prospects. Of course other teams have amazing prospects to offer similar or greater than ours.
Can you please elaborate which amazing prospects other teams will propose in trade for Chychrun?
I am talking about prospects on teams in need of Chychrun…
How would anyone know who teams would offer for Chychrun? Or who is considered untouchable on those teams? Not to mention how many teams would like to have Chychrun. Outside of the very elite prospects like Byfield, virtually any prospect could be had I'd imagine, the landscape of prospects that could go in a deal for Chychrun is immense.
Agreed. We are borderline in the playoff hunt WITH major injuries to our D. We don't need to overpay to Chychyrryyrrun....I don't know how to spell it haha.Yahoo sports had a mock Chychrun trade to the Kings for Kupari, Moore, this year's first, and next year's second. If Chychrun continues to struggle to score, he isn't worth that, much less what people are proposing here.
Get an Edler replacement at the deadline if he is still out and the Kings are still in the hunt for a playoff spot. Trade one of Walker, Roy, and Durzi in a package for a good left D in the off season.

I do that trade easy though. Kupari and a first for Chychrun? Duh. Done deal.
Chychrun - Doughty
Bjornfot - Roy
Anderson - Durzi
Wonder what happens when Walker comes back from injury next season.
That is actually a really good defense. With some goal scoring help and a better powerplay they are a pretty complete team with size/toughness being the last weakness. Maybe they can also pay extra to get Crouse somehow in that deal and insert Byfield into the lineup. Those two are big bodies that would fix getting pushed around at least a little bit.I do that trade easy though. Kupari and a first for Chychrun? Duh. Done deal.

Vilardi isn't a King right now because while he has a lot of skill, his skating and speed are below average which took him off the roster essentially.
Now, I dont understand why the same people who think Brandt Clarke is untouchable forget that his biggest issue is skating as well.. If the oppurtunity for a defenseman comes up that's really good, I dont see realistically why Clarke would be unmovable. In a quicker NHL it makes you wonder just how much his "good acceleration" will become average. And if he has to put on weight and improve his balance maybe he doesn't become the good puck carrier he is, and he becomes weak defensively along the boards.
Just something to consider. Not everyone works out their pre-existing draft issues. If he does improve he will be great I think. And if he doesn't then the Kings have another (potentially) diminishing asset.
Which then opens the door to no he's not immovable if a really good trade for a defenseman comes up and he's part of the package. The Kings simply cannot risk having a bad pick on defense because that will set them back for half a decade. If the Kings development team have some legitimate concerns with him already then Blake should trade him in a package for a really solid dman.

This is all true. But the argument for Chychrun is he will be part of the next core moving forward and is also valuable to the remaining core winning games right now. You dont sell the farm for him but if the price is right you have to make the move. Dealing Kupari for him with the depth at center should be something to consider. Its not like gutting the rebuild for a single playoff run for Letang.Kings aren't one overpriced D away from winning the cup.
This season is frustrating as hell to watch, one game we look like world beaters and the next we can't keep up with an AHL team. It is a tweener year, the first real season in the pros for a lot of the kids in the AHL. Most of the prospects in ontario have less than 50 games pro experience. The Zegras's are the exception, not the rule, and even he has more than 40 games pro before this season.
Do I agree with how the team is being ran, no. I hate how they are trying to kill the creativity of some of these kids and the use of players and why some of these guys are still on the team. But it is not strictly an on ice personnel issue, its management and coaching. If they don't start seeing a real uptick in something soon bye bye.
How about we all take a breath (or a shot) and stop trading away the prospects before we see what we have, so we don't get into another Kubalik/Cernak situation and have to hear the bitching for years. Lets be happy that we actually have kings hockey to watch for a while
