I'm half joking here. Being sarcastic. Giving the pessimistic case. You tend to feel that way after a 5-1 loss when everyone looks like shit and your biggest rival is prospering.
But I do think there's some concerns regarding the prospect pool. There's a mentality around here that the Kings just need to "let the kids play!". But I'm not convinced the Kings are mismanaging their prospects/younger players. I think most of them just aren't ready yet.

No one says stuff like that quit being a clownShhhh, you're making too much sense.
Don't you see, if we "play the kids" they'll all become superstars with no learning curve at all. They will make no mistakes, and always be in the right position to make the correct play.WE WILL COME TO EVERYONE'S VILLAGE WITH OUR ARMY OF ROOKIES, AND BURN THEM ALL DOWN.... THERE WILL BE NO STOPPING US...WE WILL WIN THEM ALL!!!!

Unbelievably ignorant, and somehow proud of it.
Lot of that going around these days.
You would think me advocating calling up Turcotte instead of Tynan wouldn't be seen as that crazy but here we are I guess
Trying to figure out what YOUTH the Ducks developed and put into their top six,
Zegras is the only one I can see, other than that Terry, Getzlaf, Rakell, and Milano,
You can make a case for Comtois, but 1 assist in 14 games, doesn't really scream out top six,
Henrique was in their top 6 until injury.... so where is this massive youth movement?
Please someone tell me it's not Terry, because before this year, he was......playing 3rd and 4th line,
It's not crazy, but you don't know the specifics, you don't know why Tynan was called up vs Turcotte, 100% on the surface, it looks counter-productive, but one poster mentioned when it happened, maybe that was a promise made to Tynan to get him to sign.
There's about 100 different reasons it could be, that we are not privy too, getting pissed off because you don't think something should happen or something different happened etc, doesn't make sense to me. If 2 years down the line Turcotte was never called up, then MAYBE there's a point,
But as it is, Turcotte is 50 games into a pro career, sorry if I'm not worried about his time table.
The Kings top six has an average age of 30 and the youngest is Kempe at 26. The bottom six has an average age of 22. The top six is regularly getting 18-20 minutes a game, bottom six roughly 10-12.
The Ducks top six has an average age of 25 and Zegras is 20. The bottom six has an average age of 27. The top six is getting 17-19 minutes a game, bottom six is getting 13-15 min a game, the most of which is the 20 y.o. 3 C getting 15 min a game.
Different situations that are much more nuanced than that but the Kings are not affording youth much chance, hell when the lines get shook up we often just get OLDER in the top six.
It's also ass backwards since the Kings seem to have no trouble keeping a thin defensive roster.
But it's not a move in a vacuum, if that was a one-off we could look over it as such. But similar vet over youth moves just. keep. happening.
Tell me, who is ready for top six minutes..... It took Terry an injury and 4+ years.....it took Milano...injury...a trade....and 4+ years, Zegras is the only one who was given top six right off the top.
Building off what you said, Kaliyev has survived a 4th line grinder/energy role for 30 games now. Time to trust him in the top 6.Well, how did we find out Durzi is ready? How did we find out Kaliyev is ready?
Truth is damn near every kid on the roster is there by accident due to injuries and covid, not because smart management is trying to give them spots, and when they do get spots, they're extremely low-minute depth checking spots RARELY getting top end opportunities.
No one is saying banish Kopitar and make Byfield 1C and frankly I'm getting f***ing sick of that red herring being paraded around at this point, we're just saying there are a handful of people that have earned opportunities that they aren't receiving, and others who at least deserve a look so they can learn what else they need to build. Playing guys in the bottom six in the AHL isn't 'being patient,' it's lazy. It's sitting on your f***ing hands and praying they work it out themselves, especially when you have dead weight, redundancies, and guys with no future beyond this year just wasting oxygen on the NHL roster.
Really? Who? What AHL vet has been called up and played over youth, other than Tynan?
Are we not bleeding blue chippers and complementary top sixers?
What would be the issue with giving any of Turcotte, Byfield, Kaliyev, even complements like Fagemo, Thomas some top six time? It doesn't have to be every night or for the whole season. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills having to argue for playing anyone but Brown and Moore in the top six.
Like Moore and Brown couldn't get benched if they scored on Sparks, autographed the puck, and spit on it before throwing it directly at TM's head. And even if they did, they'd plug in a redundancy like AA or Tynan instead of giving Turcotte a game or three. That's the issue.
So you argue benching Moore, who is 26 years old and playing bottom six, which you DONT WANT TURCOTTE to play......to bring up Turcotte and have him play.....bottom six....yep, that's rational.
And why would you bench Brown, he's been fine, I get it, you seem to forget these are human beings, and not chattel, imagine the morale problem you would have if you bench Brown for no reason. Is he the Brown from 2012, of course not, but f*** you guys are acting like the guy does nothing out there, it's batshit crazy.
Waiving Clague. Lizotte over JAD. Tynan-Frk-Tkachev over Turcotte. it doesn't even have to be AHL vets, it's the general vet over youth sentiment that's pervasive.
