Always is around here.

unless the Kings show us it isn’t, that will be the narrative of the board. The pandemic has hamstrung the Kings a bit, but I am falling into the camp that serious management overhaul needs to occur. There is too much clutter on the NHL roster to give young talent opportunities to grow. We don’t know if our projected top 6 prospects are busts because they haven’t had the opportunity to be that. Right now the Kings have 5 dudes in their top 6 not going anywhere in the next 3 years. That is a problem. 3 need to be moved. Which three? For me it’s Kempe, Iafallo and Arvidson.

Hope is falling, not the sky. Instead of being a .450 team, the Kings are a .525 team. That’s on the backs of aging, overpaid vets and no cap space to upgrade. Kids are being epically slow rolled, so it looks like a black hole season in the making.

Unless a kid shows they aren’t a tweener and beats out an overpaid, underperforming vet, there is not much to feel excited for the next 12-24 months.

So annoying to see Troy Terry at 30 points and Zegras at 25 points and Turcotte and Byfield can’t put up points in the AHL

And why is Tkachev (KA CHEFF) ‘Kotiev’ KO TEE EFF with the Reign?
I thought it was some other player…until i was actually seeing on AHL TV that it was Tkachev. Lol

Lets be clear here, this is Terrys' 6th year since being drafted and he had a whopping 15 goals in 131 games coming into this season. Not exactly lighting it up the entire time. He may have finally figured it out, or this may be a guy who is really hot right now. Many Ducks fans I know have been waiting for him to do something for years, this may be it. who knows. He's like their version of Kempe. As for Zegras, you could see the skill right away, so it shouldn't be any surprise. If Byfield doesn't get hurt, everyone may be talking about him too, as he puts up the same points. Also, the Ducks had 3-4 spots open in their top 6 , we did not.

You should stop trying to make sense around here, it doesn’t go over well.

The Ducks left spots open inside their top 6 because they want their kids projected for those roles to play in them and learn on the job. They were realistic in their planning, they learned that Getzlaf, Rakell, Henrique and Sifverberg weren't going to accomplish anything other than mediocrity and decided not to try and augment them with vets to try and get water from a stone.

Kings management is still enthralled with the core. They have their heads up their collective ass and are right at this moment harming the future to try and chase something they cannot catch. It is a complete failure on both ends.

Blake must be fired and fired quickly. An outside hire that dismisses ties to the now ancient past is the only solution.

And Anaheim is in 1st place.

Our highly regarded prospect pool is looking pretty overrated right now.

Kupari sucks. Vilardi sucks. Andersson is a bust. Kaliyev is good at one thing and sucks at everything else. Turcotte and JAD are bottom sixers in the NHL. Fagemo is nothing. Anderson and Bjornfot might be Alec Martinez level one day. Clarke is scoring in JUNIOR, he's far from a sure thing. Byfield lacks the scoring touch and soft hands to be a big scorer in the NHL, all his rush scoring in junior won't translate to the big leagues.

Lizotte is pretty good forth liner though. That was a good pickup.
Your thinking is skewed.

But if you don’t also shitcan Luke then nothing changes.

Agreed.

This entire formula feels like an inferior movie sequel that the original producers and director want nothing to do with, but the same cast collects their paychecks.

All of them should be in the NHL. Terry is 24 and finally breaking out after learning on the job. Zegras was weak in his first callup last season and went down briefly then had a better end to last season. Started slow this season and figured it out without being jerked around and sent to the AHL.
Kings are keeping guys in the AHL and brought in guys like Danault and Arvidsson instead.
If the prospects had a leash as long as Brown and Moore maybe one would be playing in the top six right now.
Your thinking is skewed.
ANA has like 4 games in hand on everyone else...settle down on handing them the division, they are most likely in 4th place right now.

Besides that, you might need a drink...and some meds.
I'm half joking here. Being sarcastic. Giving the pessimistic case. You tend to feel that way after a 5-1 loss when everyone looks like shit and your biggest rival is prospering.

But I do think there's some concerns regarding the prospect pool. There's a mentality around here that the Kings just need to "let the kids play!". But I'm not convinced the Kings are mismanaging their prospects/younger players. I think most of them just aren't ready yet.

And the special effects guy is now using the franchise to get his directorial debut credit.

Hmmm, Durzi has to be paper transaction, but I'm not sure what exactly is going on here. Are they all paper transactions, because the Kings aren't exactly swimming in defenseman? Doing paper transactions with the likes of Byfield and Turcotte would seem like a real awful tease to the fans

Might as well go with 4 forwards & 1 D on the ice at all times. Way to think out of the box!
:naughty:
