Sorry, if you are L.A., you make this move, yesterday, today, tomorrow, last week, next week, it doesn't matter, 2 1st round picks and 2 prospects, hell you have a known commodity in Chycrun, what if your next 2 1sts turn out to be Botterills? You pick 2 prospects that are redundant, Thomas and JAD, Faber and Gruns or whomever..... you don't pass on a known commodity for what might be someday someway....maybe half as good.
Shit I do a 1st, Kupari, JAD and Vilardi… they won’t accept that..
shit, that would have gotten you Jack Eichel

Arizona will likely want a combination of forward prospects, top D prospects and or picks.

Kings can move one of Kupari, JAD, or Vilardi at this point - Vilardi being the most valuable. On D, that is the issue. Bjornfot? Anderson? Walker?

Would Arizona take Vilardi and Bjornfot for him?

Why would they accept that?

2 1sts, JAD or Vilardi, Roy, and a D prospect not named Clarke, do that every day twice on Sundays

What is it with the obsession to trade for a defender especially Chyrum and giving up a mayor assets?

We are more or less set with what we already have and what's upcoming.
Doughty insists to play with Anderson, Clark is as close as it comes to Doughty level,
Bjornfoot is showing signs of a great defense oriented defender.
Grans and Faber doing really good and Durzi is Durzi

Loos to me like
Anderson - Doughty
Bjornfoot - Clark
Durzi/Faber/Grans - Walker/Roy

On which line would we even put a new defender?
We even waived a quality player like Claque.

Our forward pool is the one that needs mayor attention.
Is see the near future like this, after we get rid of our oldies and playing players according to their skill level
xxx - Byfield - xxx
Tkachev - Turcotte - Kaliev
Fagemo- Kupari - Kempe
Lemieux - Danault - Grundstrom

If we want the cup, we somehow have to get one or two true goal scoring wingers.
So the management would have something like Kopitar, Iafallo, Brown, Moore, Villardi
JAD, Thomas, Madden to get one or two
available to get a young scoring winger

Grans, Faber, Durzi and Clarke are all unproven.....nothing. You want to let go a of a bird in the hand in the hopes of that 2 of them don't turn into Keaton Ellerby or Griffin Reinhart.....

Sorry....quality player like Clague? Seriously? Clague falls into the Faber/Grans/Durzi/Clarke mold, hasn't done shit.......

Clark is not really gambling in my opinion. He has all the tools to be better than Chyrum
All the other guys are fighting for the 3rd line where our real open spot is

Why are you so afraid to develop our own youngsters?
All of us should have learned from giving assets away for aging players just to somehow get a playoff chance and still miss

Scoring no goals is our real issue, our defense stats look ok to me.
In our days you have to score constantly 3 or more goals per game to win.
Since we are not able to do that for years, we find ourself on the bottom of the league

I mean, I don't see how the squabble would be over the D orientation--having too many good parts is a good problem.

I think it's totally fair to squabble over value, but the defense being loaded?

Doughty - Chychrun
Bjornfot - Roy
Anderson - Durzi
Walker

Where any one of those guys can move around as need be is fantastic.

That gives way, when Doughty tapers off, to something like

Chychrun - Clarke
Bjornfot - Grans? Faber?
Anderson - Durzi
Spence? Nousiainen? UFA?

I hate giving up futures as much as anyone but that's a move that nails down your D for a decade (and even if Bjornfot/Anderson/Roy go, those guys are replaceable internally).

Nothing wrong with developing anyone, but if you have the chance to get a 23 year old # 1 Dman, you do it, as long as the price is right, and two 1sts, Vilardi or JAD, and Hans Gruber or Faber or any other D prospect, not named Clarke, you do that 100 times over.

If it's a one for one, Clarke for Chycrun, you do that 100 times over,

You KNOW what you have in Chycrun at the NHL level, you have no idea if Clarke is going to become the next Griffin Reinhart, or the next Seth Jones, it's a gamble, which is why the majority of the times, you see 2-3-4 prospects/picks for one proven player type deals.

Aging--Chychrun is 23.
He scored more goals than literally ANY King last year.
Offense starts from the back end--Chychrun can skate, shoot, and defend and break the puck out with the best of them.

If you have a top 3 of Doughty in his 30s, Chychrun in his mid 20s, and Clarke in his late teens early 20s, that's a good age stratification.

Believe me Im not at all scared of developing our own--we just pray that one becomes Chychrun and most championship teams are running a top 3 that deep more or less.

100%, but I wouldnt get go Bjornfoot, I see him developing into a really solid, 2nd pair D, more offensive Norstrom type.

But guy asked if we are afraid to develop youngsters, while watching Bjornstrom, Roy, Andersson, Walker, Durzi, all play, and that's just on the back end.

The 2 1sts's are the dealbreaker for me.
We have a declining Kopitar during this period and there is no sings of TM being released.
Our propects show close to no development outside of Ontario.

I absolutely belive those 2 1st rounders will be in the range of Chyrum potential players

LOL this isn't Sega Genesis, you don't get points for racking up 1st rounders.....and you are right, they could possibly maybe somewhere down the line 4-5-6 years from now turn into maybe a 2nd line C and a 2nd pairing D, possibly could be......

I guess they will ask for Clark in return.
At least i would

Everything I read here on Chychrun suggests to me, why would Arizona trade this kid? He is signed through the 2024-25 season.

Those 4-5-6 years from now is where i see our window to get the cup.
Everything earlier is rushing

You guys really try to force this one by brute trading force.
The point is winning the cup, not reaching the playoff

No idea, but if the price is right, you gotta do it, imo.

Arizona SHOULD be building around this kid, but they might have a torch it all to the ground thing goign on right now

Other than his 50 or so game stretch last season where he looked pretty good, what you’re seeing this season is slightly below what he’s been before and after that hot stretch

I've seen enough to know the kid is worth it, his skill set is there, his mentality is there.

It's like watching Doughty play with.....no one, not even a Kopitar or a Quick, I'm more than ok with who and what Chycrun is and the price it would take to acquire him.

This season vs next season is what needs to be considered when trying to throw countless assets for a player especially one with a mediocre track record..
Our current is
Anderson-Doughty
Maatta-Roy
Bjornfot-Durzi

Next year it’s
Anderson-Doughty
Bjornfot-Clarke
Xxxxx-Roy
Xxxxx-Durzi
Xxxxx-Walker
Faber… big wildcard as he’s a defensive wizard
What we need is a physical defensive Dman which Chychrun isn’t
