Excellent strategy when you already have tremendous depth in your prospect pool. Very smart. You can tell Yanetti knows what he is doing and did it aggressively. Also clearly they don’t just sit with some published list and pick the top player, but they do their homework.

Yeah apparently he doesn't use the fantasy football snake draft method

Love the off-season every team is optimistic or at least should be...Kings included! The Kings have done enough I believe to get themselves into the play-offs and may surprise some people! The have depth and can ice 5 forward lines and 5 D tandems with Quick and Petersen! I think the youngsters will really push the envelope and that's not talking about any of the great young talent LA has down on the "farm"!The future so bright I gotta wear shades

Will never understand their (deliberate) silence on the purple and gold 3rds. They should be such a hit but they refuse to wear them and they were impossible to get a hold of...
Yeah, this is one of those baffling dumbassed decisions that companies make. Like Gibson making Olive Drab LP's and ES's impossible to find. Makes no sense.

Call me crazy/stupid, but if I had my way, i'd go back to the original uniforms but replace the purple with Dodger blue. I simply love the Dodger blue color. Similar color scheme, in a way, as the UCLA or the Chargers (blue/Gold).

Their logic is that it competes with the Lakers and removes their "unique" identity. AKA they want to be associated as the black and white in LA.

I dont agree with it. There are plenty of instances where cities have multiple teams sharing colors and both being successful. Seattle and Pittsburgh come to mind.

The black and silver scheme is to attract new fans from the Raiders Nation demographic, in my opinion. You can see the effect on the crowd at Staples since 2014. And the basic design is there because it makes it possible to cheaply manufacture jerseys.

That’s why you see unlettered jerseys on sale at tj maxx for $45. They are basically long sleeved crew necks made out of polyester.

They need to use the same exact jersey they used for the Chevy one last year (same numbers and font, numbers in the stripes, zero striping, retro collar). But instead of the Chevy logo use the original crown in black and white or a newer updated crown. The home plate logo is so bland. I get Luc's reasoning that everyone says "LA" (like why they went with Vegas Golden Knights), but the logo stinks. It's not ugly, it's just incredibly generic and stale. A big beautiful crown on the front with a lot of detail work (similar stitching and quality to the Blackhawks logo) would be amazing. Use shiny chrome thread for the detail work. The home plate logo is a shoulder patch at best. The italic KINGS logo font on the helmets and Chevy is so iconic and looks so good.

Maybe that was the case when they originally changed the colors upon Gretzky's arrival but they were changed under Lombardi because the colors harkened back to the best era in Kings history (Gretzky years) and the Kings were shedding the stink of the purple/silver/black jerseys as they entered a new and promising era.

Any difference in the crowd since 2014 is because they gained a lot of new fans when they actually became winners. Starting at some point during the 2017 season, the seats have become much cheaper so your newer, younger fans that were priced out previously can now pick up seats for super cheap on StubHub. They only know one jersey and that is the one that the Kings wore when they were winners.

The RR jerseys weren't as popular as it was amongst the newer fans because it had the old Chevy logo on them: it was because it was Laker colors.

I'd very much welcome the retro purple and gold sweaters worn earlier last decade as the full time sweaters but I can't see them ever doing this because of the Lakers. The Kings are known to most people as a team that wears silver and black because that's what Gretzky wore and then that's what they wore when they won Cups. Raiders haven't been in LA for years so it is kind of the Kings thing in LA.

I'll agree on the basic design thing but I feel like things went south on the jersey front across the board when Adidas came on board.
