I'm not expecting us to be very active. Looking for a bridge two year guy who can fill in while the kids get stronger and percolate. I'd be okay with Tarasenko if the return was minimal, but not sure if he'd be okay with us.

I mean looking at the stupid suitcases full of money and assets the other teams are throwing around in a tight cap environment...i'm 1. Glad Blake isn't partaking and 2. realizing that Blake is in an even BETTER spot tomorrow, at the deadline, and next offseason with a house full of degenerate gamblers looking for their next big score.

I guess it all depends on what he does tomorrow, at the deadline and next offseason. He used 4 million on Matta for last season and the next, which is damn close to the amount that a guy like Buchnevich is signed for and he cost essentially a 2nd round pick. Reinhart signed for about a million more and cost a protected 1st. Standing pat always seems like the safest move, but half of those degenerate gamblers will be improving their team and the goal is to win the cup, which is why they gamble. In my opinion, now would have been a perfect time to weaponize the cap space, by next season teams will likely have a better idea of the flat cap environment.

Would love Filip Forsberg...26 years old and 4, 20+ goal seasons and 2, 30+ goal seasons. 6 mil cap hit, but only signed 1 more year. If he would agree to extension,
would talk deal with Poile. Forsberg would tweet a thumbs up emoji, this time. The Grans / Spence + Fagemo / Madden + #2 may not be enough. I would like to hang
on to Kupari....but for Forsberg, could part with him, if Forsberg would extend.
Would possibly make the #2 and #1, lottery protected and ask for Preds second rounder back.
I think it's ok to deal a #1 now, (protected) for elite - near elite players back now. (with some term)

An exploration of potential trade targets for those interested.

As I mentioned previously, most of the UFAs want term and/or money. These will be shorter-term contracts.

I’ve always liked Phil the Thrill. Fun as hell. I’ll send Austin Wagner right over.

Is this “discord” thing populated with middle-aged overweight men? If so, eew.

On the other hand, Rosamund Pike will help, eh, RP?

Returning to our board after fighting main board mods off with a box cutter...

He fooled Drew into thinking Tkachyov is really Matthew Tkachuk.

Not THAT bold banking on Drew not being able to read more than 5 letters

Trade =/= signing

agreed should weaponize the cap space but signing people for the sake of signing people is not the position we're in, yes the degenerate gamblers i'm making fun of have the 'right' idea, i'm making fun of them because most of them seem to have no clue where their teams actually are, and a lot of these deals are going to be unbearable in short order. A lot of these are a LOT closer to Toronto signing Clarkson than they are DL signing Gaborik.

So far every deal has been a trade then signing right? The only signing that has happened so far that I think has been too high has been Jones. Sounds like Hyman will eventually get too much, but that deal has yet to be signed since free agency hasn't started.
