Sounds as if one potential target, jayden Schwartz is destined to sign with Seattle come the start of free agency, per Friedman.

He believes LA will look at Danault, make of that what you will.

Personally, I am interested to see what happens to Saad and Bunting. Wouldn't mind LA going in on both.

Domink Kahun is likely to not be qualified by Edmonton. Maybe another option? Did LA not kick the tires on him previous?

The tricky part is that as of right now, the Kings have 14 likely forwards ready to go, if you include Byfield, not including Athanasiou, with Frk maybe floating around as a 15th F option.

I figured they'd lose a F to Seattle, but no. Now that they can potentially keep Byfield on the Reign, who knows how much that might change the equation. They didn't trade the pick on Saturday. Unless they can trade some of the bottom 6 guys, I don't know what else they'll do up front.

Even on defense, you can get 7 out of what they have. Wolanin as the 8th guy after they add another LHD of some kind wouldn't be surprising though. Or maybe they just keep Clague around.

What do you mean? Did I miss something? I thought it was NHL or back to Juniors for QB.

Yes please. He can replace Imama's toughness and is a better hockeyplayer.
I would much rather bring Lucic back for the last two years on his contract. A 4th line of Lucic-JAD-Lemieux/Brown (if they add another top 6 forward) would provide some insurance for the kids breaking in, as well as help prepare our young defense in practice who had a very difficult time dealing with physical forechecks last year.

People discount that, but if you are Bjornfot or Anderson, and the most physical guy you drill against on a daily basis is Wagner, you won't be as prepared to deal with the Minnesotas and Vegas'. A lot of that was lost with Clifford and Lewis leaving.

Anderson and Bjornfot have also played in 60 and 36 career games. You could have Probert and Domi at practice, and a rookie is still a rookie. Plus you're not trying to hurt your teammate in practice.

Games against other teams are the only way to learn.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Been away for the last week and a half. Why the hell could Blake not have made the ghost deal!!

Frick
I was surprised too. Maybe they are going after someone better or the talk of an offensive defenseman was based on the expectation of losing Clague in the expansion draft.

I'll play my rookies in games, you protect yours in a practice bubble. Who ends up with the better player?

Good practice habits make good play easier, but there's no substitute for game action.

Bunting sure played well against LA last year. See him more in a top 9 than a top 6 though.

Danault contract could be very scary. Love the player but I think a team will overpay.

Considering what Buchnevich and Reinhart went for (similar situation RFA’s), I certainly am too.

I mean yeah, if we can trade like Clague and next year's second for Bertuzzi, I'm all in on that. I think we need to find a dumber GM though. I don't want to make any trades with Stevie Y. He'll fleece us for sure.

Byfield should be on the team next year. His experience with Kopitar is better than any other kind of experience he can get.
