Similar to the hot takes from last year that the kid should be Top 6 in the NHL this season.

Then he no-showed in the playoffs, the Kings got shinier toys in the '19 draft and nobody has been pumping him like they were last year.

I don't know: the scouting reports at the time didn't really paint some amazing scorer so making Kempe comparisons don't seem unwarranted. If he has a season ending knee injury then, yes, that is a significant blow to his development. Ticket him for a full season in Ontario next year if that is the case, more than likely.

As for my hot take, get out your flame shield: I kind of like Fagemo more as a prospect and it would not surprise me if he became the better NHL player.

Fagemo is my dark horse pick to become our 2nd line RW in next 3 years and surprise everyone

Let’s be honest, if 2 of JAD/Thomas/Kupari/Kaliyev/Fagemo make it as 2nd liners the Kings did pretty good.

Turcotte had a few assists in a pre tournament game against the Germans Caufield had four goals we'll split them up and put them with grinders. Aaahhh we're gonna get smoked by the Russians. USA coaching for ya.

Good for the US to pull out a win against Germany. They have to clean up on the PK and 5-on-5.

Kaliyev has not looked good in his limited time. Turcotte has been hot and cold.

Turcotte with Zegras and Caufield/ Kaliyev would be a great line.

Kaliyev and Fagemo will make it as top 6 players I’m hoping and positive . Kupari not sure yet , JAD will be bottom 6 but very good and important role player on the 3rd line . Thomas will be traded along with other prospects for proven players

Little tough for anyone to get in a rhythm when they only play every 5th shift and with different linemates and different positions.
 
Turcotte was much more noticeable today, not a lot of offense to speak of but he was hustling and not hurting the team either. Would be so nice to have him with Kaliyev, Caufield or Wahlstrom for a game or two :mad:
 
I think it might be best if Turcotte stayed in Wisconsin for another season after this one. He isn't the best of the best in this tournament. No need to rush him. Let him develop and improve where he will get plenty of meaningful playing time.

He definitely appears to be one of the best centers in the tournament so far to me. He has had a number of shifts running around the opponent and has made a number of solid plays.

I was not going to question if they went Zegras at #5 and was horrified when he fell to the Ducks.

That being said, I'm not going to proclaim that he's the better player yet. It just goes to show that there was a lot of different opinions after the first two picks.

Lets not jump to conclusions about Zegras over Turcotte. Just because he had 4 assist in this game doesn't mean he's gonna be a better player. Lets wait and see what happens when both players make it to the big leagues to make a we should have picked him over him statement. How many guys have scored a thousand points in the world juniors and flamed out as a pro. Pinto, Robertson, etc yeah playing big minutes but Turcotte will be a better pro. I'd still take Turcotte over Zegras as well. USA coaching staff....no comments. Not gonna question them even though the lines are puzzling as hell, but wouldn't be surprised if this team not medal because of their odd decisions.

Zegras was one of those guys that was all over the top-10 depending on who you asked.

But I'm not at all down on Turcotte, he's a guy who will do much better with some man strength to go with his pissiness, those are things that aren't showing up yet...plus his usage in this tournament sucks hard, bad time to pass judgment.
