It still amazes me that people draw conclusions after a WJC. Suddenly player x needs two more years at .... and player z should be drafted 3rd overall. All that after two games too...

Laughable.

Cool tourney to follow but that’s it.

Once they play professional hockey, than it is getting serious.
Hahahahaha

That is the Craig Button way of scouting in a nutshell.

Dont get me wrong jfront.

Nothing wrong with being excited about a specific player but the conclusions people will drawn from it, i do not like.

It's why I no longer get excited about Prospects in JR hockey. I wait till they have at least one full year of PRO hockey against men under their belt.

Turcotte w Caufield today

turcotte kaliyev zegras caufield and york all on pp2

That little bit of powerplay at the end of the first period with all the boys made me giddy. Man it would be epic if they start heating up.

Turcotte is having a good 1st period. Kaliyev got called for 2 slashing penalties in one series of events (definitely pulling his best Kings style). Kaliyev actually got moved up to the 2nd line with Zegras. Caulfield looks not so good. He is really a 1 dimensional player.

I've thought the same these past few games. He is easily knocked off the puck, can't win board battles and is having trouble getting to places where he can get his shot off. I absolutely see him being a good NHLer, but some people were saying that he would be better than Turcotte and I just don't see it.

It is the Montreal way to over sell their prospects. Caulfield was drafted 15th OA for a reason. The thing that got me was them saying he was better than Vilardi. The kid is a smaller less physical Mike Cammy. He will be a decent top6 winger but not an elite winger like Kane which is what they will try to let you believe.
