Duclair wants too much money, he turned down 4M a year already is asking for 5M, no way I give him 5M.
Do you have a source on that? I know he likely could have gotten $4 mil in arbitration but I have not seen anywhere that he was actually offered that amount by the Sens and turned it down.

Team is tougher with the additions of Smith, Studnicka, Frederic ,Senyshyn and Miller
Isn't that what we wanted ?

You want tougher but not at the expense of sacrificing being better, but really how much tougher are they?

Frederic without question makes them tougher

Smith is areal good player and battles, I do like his grit but I wouldn't say he's any tougher than Nordy who the Bruins are letting walk. So I really question saying he makes the Bruins that much tougher but I do like the signing.,

I'd still want to see if Miller can actually lace them up for an extended period of time before I consider him an addition. no doubt he makes the Bruins tougher, but for how long is the question there. Seny I dont see it, I don't even feel he will be in Boston on opening day.

And they lost one of their toughest and most skilled players in Krug and Chara the toughest of them all still isn't under contract.

I think people badly underestimate Kase. While he couldn't finish in the playoffs, I thought he was one of our better forwards. Excellent possession, smart 2-way player, slick at times, etc. He did more for me than JDB did, that's for damn sure.

I like Kase and I'd continue to give him top 6 chances. Of all the shit players Sweeney has acquired via UFA and trade to solve our secondary scoring, aside from Coyle he's the guy I like most. So far.

I agree, and he’s one of the few guys to play on the second line under Cassidy that actually clicked with Krejci.

I agree with playing over Moore but not Kase.

He looked good in the playoffs albeit snake bitten. He scored 20 in 17-18 and 20 points in 30 games in 18-19. 24 points in 55 games this past season. Only 6 games with the Bruins. Then 3 months off and Then playoffs.

I would give him a chance to play on Krejci’s wing for an entire season.
Good points. I would still deal him with Moore and sign a RW

While we wade through team toughness and roster construction here's the next question
Rask and Krejci both ask for multi year extensions, lets say 2 years at fair value, not bargain bin or their current hit
Yes or No
I'm leaning Yes

My guess is Frederic, Kuhlman (doesn't need waivers yet), Studnicka and Vaak are sent down to start the year.

They are at 23 right now without Senyshyn. I think they like Zboril more than Senyshyn. So they have 8 D. Do they move out Moore? And if they do, do they replace him with Chara or another LD? If Moore goes and they bring no one else in and roll 7 D, they can carry 14 F and Senyshyn has a spot.

If they roll 8 D, then to me looking at the roster the 13th and final forward spot is between Lindholm and Senyshyn. Me I keep Senyshyn and waive Lindholm. But if I was a betting man, I'd bet Senyshyn has a better chance of clearing waivers than Lindholm. Carrying Lindholm also allows them the flexibility to shift Kuraly to LW at times. And Lindholm has a one-way contact whereas they should be able to get Senyshyn re-signed on a two-way.

And this is all assuming they are done acquiring forwards with no one leaving.
I am in total agreement with what they do ~ they will give pep talks to kids and send them out

my breakdown

locks (9)

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Krejci-Xxxxxxxx
Xxxxxxx-Coyle- Smith
Xxxxxxx-Kuraly- Wagner

Time to step up (3)
Should get every opportunity if here

Kase
Bjork
Ritchie

has own category (1)
~ cheap and useful depth on one way contract

Lindholm

The kids are our Future (4)
~ oh and some have options

Studnicka - options
Frederic - options
Senyshyn - needs waivers
Kuhlman - options

the top two are legit part of my team going forward

Kuhlman I’m a big fan of and as a 13th guy fill in I am all in

Senyshyn- wild card, I believe better then getting credit for ~ Smith signing a killer.

Go Bruins

Yes

Biggest no brainer in the history of Erph to extend Rask and Krejci 2 years If they perform well

both I’d look at around 5-5.5 M per year

Bruins Rock !!!!!

If the Bruins want to continue on the same path, they will.

Personally I think they need a change. Building on a middle around Bergy/Krejci for over a decade doesn't seem like the best path.

Unless we want to ride in the sunset a la Detroit with Datsyuk/Zetterberg or Vancouver with the Sedins. (Who both had a C in the pipeline better than what we have), I say we go another direction

I would like both back for 2 years, 5M AAV. Boston (like the rest of the NHL) needs to start being smarter with signing contacts.

Which one exactly? I am always up for improving the roster but dealing a 24 year old while trying to building a contender and simultaneously retooling is a tough sell.

I would however be very open to moving him for a top end LD for a long term partner to McAvoy

The Smith signing is 100% a vote of no-confidence in Senyshyn. These guys will keep ratf***ing the draft and never face consequences for it. Beat reporters will never call them out for it directly during a press conference.
This bothers me so much. Bruins beat writers or whatever they call them today haven't got the integrity to (basically) tell the truth and stand by "the truth." There's a lot of talk about "yeah but if they do that Sweeneeley will get mad at them and never give them another interview." That and maybe the Jacob's will buy out their "news" outlet and fire them or whatever fear that they have. I'm very bad with names but Fran Rosa, Joe McDonough and so many other old time writers would never give this management group the free ride that Haggs, Fluto, and KPD give the Bruins. They're actually an excuse making machine for the team.

Well with your lineup they most certainly do not rock.

If their only move to improve secondary scoring was to add Craig Smith to their third line, then that's just crap. They're again gonna roll out JDB on Krejci's left side? We haven't concluded beyond a shadow of a doubt that neither is good for the other? It isn't crystal clear to all of us that JDB seems a better match with Coyle on a 3rd line? We're just gonna pretend the weeks of lineups we all filled out with JDB on the 3rd line didn't happen, just to excuse our GM who can't get his job done?

Haha, can you imagine Duclair as a Bruin and he's fighting them for a contract and he fires his agent and takes it to the media and says things about the front office? OMG he'd be sent to play for the Siberian Dragons.

50 50 Krejci will be bought back next season

Bergy is here until the end of his contract.... aging/ productive with Marchand and Pasta

Yeah but C'mon, they can keep Miller on the bench in his civvies. If anyone screws with them he'll take off his shoe and beat them with it. That's worth a $1 million right there!:naughty::rolleyes:
