I would try to make another deal with the Wild seeing as it's the only team Sweeney has ever made a real trade with.
Dumba, Foligno and Hartman would be worth looking into. I do have to wonder why Mike Hartman is on his fourth of fifth team in like four years though.
Yeah but this time it's "Dollar Bill" Guerin that he'd be dealing with. Don't know if the Sween-meister can deal with him. There seems to be few of his peers that bother dealing with Sweeney.

Sweeney should really offer sheet cirelli

have cirelli or coyle play wing this year, then cirelli/Studnicka are your bergy/Krejci replacements the next couple years

They are in trouble- 7m in cap space for all those signings WITH the 10% off season ceiling. What a mess. At least they got a cup out of it. How much worse would it look if they had crapped out in the post-season?

I believe they will use use it on sergachev, which will leave open cirelli. Could be a huge spot to sure up a top 6 center for years to come.

If I were them that is what I would do too given the relative state of their D corps. They are still going to be pinched if they re-sign Sergachev though. Something's gotta give here. But they re-upped Schenn and Maroon?? Cheap deals, but can you imagine if Don did that? In fact, that is a VERY Bruins like move. I am pretty sure that combined 1.7m would be handy come season start.

EDIT: Yes I realize they would be paying that sort money if they called up 2 ELCs instead but still, a couple of injuries and ouch. With the ECL guys that are waiver exempt at least you can send them down if they get hurt or play like crap and try another one.

There's been rumors of trading Stamkos...

That makes sense given they won a Cup essentially without him. I wonder how many takers they get with that contract (4 more years!) and his injury history?

It's a no from me dawg.

But, somebody would bite, especially if we are ever allowed back into the buildings. I think on name alone, Stamkos drives up the demand a little bit for whichever team he's on. It would be a desperation move, but at that point what does it matter to Tampa?

They're leaving themselves ripe for the picking on Cirelli and Sergachev the longer this goes without answers.

it’s going to be pennies on the dollar then because the return won’t be good. Teams didn’t even pick up Tyler Johnson off waivers because no one wants to help tampa

Somebody will take Stamkos. It only takes 1 team. I'm sure TB will have be making some hard decisions soon, and probably eating a good chunk of change on somebody, but if Stamkos is being shopped then I don't see any way that nobody is interested.

I don't know man, thats a tough contract. He is 30 already, and that is 4 more seasons on a guy with injury issues. Also, it is pretty much buyout proof, so you don't have that contingency plan to buy out the last year or two if worse comes to worse.

I’ll take Killorn and McDonagh off their hands. Moore would have to go the other way though as part of the deal.

Let's say instead of the 8+ or whatever the cap number is, it's 5-6. Not all that unreasonable for either party at that point

I mean if he plays then you're getting a lifetime PPG+ player. If he's injured, insurance pays him. Not the risk I wanna take with a team this close to the cap, but somebody is gonna take the bait.
