It's time to tank and just lose the rest of the way. Move TT, Martinez and Lewis. Carter, Brown and Quick if any decent offers. Bring up Frk, Grundstrom and Clague.

The next win I want is winning the lottery. If do not win, draft a fire breathing offensive dynamo, which there is one - Marco Rossi. Stutzle and Perfetti may be ones too.
Byfield is intriguing, but just not seeing dynamic in him. One thing though, he's 17 and does not turn 18 until August! So I would probably take him 2nd, but Rossi
may end up being the better player. I think it's possible that Byfield could be a Keith Primeau....where you don't get the elite results from the size and skill package, but end up with a pretty good player.
Too hard to say though. I want dynamic and that's Lafreniere and to a slightly lesser degree, Rossi.

The issue is, if the kings get rid of those players, they are going to have way more success imo which is not good for the tank.

Same. Admittedly I lean forward 3-6 over Drysdale, because if he were that kind of special he'd be solidly in the 2/3 discussion.

Thing with Drysdale though is that I have read in a lot of places that he is right there with Byram who a lot of people would have been fine with after Hughes and Kaako. I think Byram is the more complete Dman but for Drysdale to be in the conversation says a lot.

The fact that he has been put in big spots and hasn't choked shows he has the head for it as well:

Canada’s youngest d-man Drysdale used increased role to stymie the Finns

Unless one of these 5’9” 170 lb kids projects to be a Marner/Kane, if the Kings get lucky enough to draft 2nd, I think Byfield is the right pick.

He’s very young but big enough to see in the NHL in 2 years if a bunch of other things go right. Even if he plays as a 3C, he projects better in that role as a 19/20 yo than JAD does as a 22/23 yo.

Byfield gives me that Wheeler vibe. Like down the road he'll be an absolute beast, but it's gonna take a while.

Stutzle is 6’0, 190 and he turned 18 last week, just as a counterpoint.

Yup Stutzle vs Byfield seems to be shaping up as a solid battle for #2.

I don't think the Kings can go wrong if they get (stay) in the top 3, but long-term I think Raymond will emerge as one of the best players in this draft.

With him falling off a bit this season some lucky team is going to nab him a few picks lower than he deserves to go and they'll be rewarded.

With our luck we'll draft Hugh Jessiman. My goodness I hope I'm wrong.

And since everything comes in 3's....there will thus likely be a third King draftee, that goes on to another team and be better than ALL other King draftees in which stay on the Kings. (but underwhelm or never reach their potential)

1. Kubalik 2. Cernak 3. ?

Well Tanner Pearson would be second on the team in points behind Kopitar, if that counts. Cause we traded Pearson, a former first round pick, for Carl Hagelin, who we then traded for a third, which we used to select Lukas Parik. So we traded Tanner Pearson for Lukas Parik.

And the Penguins dealt Pearson for Gudbranson, who was then dealt to the Ducks for some scrub and a 7th round draft pick.

I'll also take the cheaper and more assertive Alex Iafallo over Tanner Pearson (who has five empty net goals this season).

I would take Iafallo over Pearson as well, but we still traded him for peanuts.

True...but players have to be accountable to prepare, work hard, and produce at an acceptable level...at some point, players are accountable and GMs have to do something.
Tanner was abysmal for 17 games. 0 goals, 1 assist and -9. That's worse than Wagner and Clewlis. And Tanner was getting top 6 minutes. Carter was totally worthless last year though...and now, he's again doing little...1 goal in 12 games and he refuses to pass the puck to Pro. I hope they can move him now. He's always been kind of tunnel vision and has probably never made a highlight reel pass. I look forward to having a 2C that has better vision and playmaking ability...like Lafreniere -Rossi - Vilardi - Turcotte.. although Alexis will be LW :)

Honestly, been counting how many good passes Pro receives each game...in the OZONE...it's less than 1 per game. If he was on the Lightning, he would be getting feeds from anyone he would play with and probably have 15 goals and 20 assists now. The Kings have no one besides Kopi that creates offense at an top level. Kovy did, but oh well. Players like Iafallo / Kempe are ok at creating offense, but the Kings lack this more than any team I have seen....since...well, last years King team.

If John Stevens had the balls to staple Toffoli and Pearson to Kopitar as linemates and stuck with it for a full season in 2017, we might have a better team/franchise today.

Kings just lack skilled players that create offense. That's why I want to see Stutzle or Rossi drafted, if they don't win the lotto. If Byfield is the guy, fine. I just want to see a buzz saw, motoring
forward that can be dangerous every second in the o-zone. The prospects game I saw Rossi in, he was pretty amazing. Size is not a concern. He will probably be 5'11" 195 in 2 yrs. But as RJ says,
he's pretty much a tank. I'm so tired of seeing any King forward not named Anze, incapable of doing much on their own, or making everyone on the ice better...Kempe and Iafallo have improved some there,
but will never be elite. Pretty pleased with both of their progress this year.

Yannetti should have on his questionaire for scouting a forward, for all scouts for their games they view: Q: Could this player play top 9 on the Lightning in 2-3 years?
Should be a criteria.

I am happy landing top 4 in this draft. Of course #1 would be great to land Laffy but I would be very happy to add the following 3

Stutzle - very fast, ridiculous edge work and scorers touch. We basically have Arty Party who can put a puck in the net but adding a guy that does it in a completely different manner would make it harder for then opposition to defend. Watching this guy skate makes me drool.

Byfield - ya, what can you say about a massive pivot that can score. I think worst case he is a big bodied 60 point a year second line center, best case a close to ppg center. Just feels like a nice safe pick.

Drysdale - an offensive weapon from the blue line. Shows up to play and can skate with the best of them. A little undersized but has a skill set that would be hard to pass up.

these are the guys that stand out to me so far. If we land a 2nd mid first pick the Connor Zary has made me take notice. Seems to be a more skilled Alex Iafallo and I use that term complimentary. Just hard on pucks, good sense, good skill and never takes a shift off. Just feels like an unsung hero type.
