At what point in the draft would you guys like to see us pick Drysdale? Imo I only see it being worth it if we get no higher than the 5th pick because I would like us to get either raymond or stutzle with the 3-4 picks unless we get 1st or 2nd overall.

Sounds about right. I have a top four of Lafreniere, Raymond, Stutzle, and Byfield, and a next three of Drysdale, Rossi, and Holtz.

If we choose at 5 and Drysdale isn’t taken, it’s a tough choice between Drysdale and Rossi. If Rossi wasn’t Austrian, he’d maybe be a top three pick.

Lots of scouts said this about Kopitar being from Slovenia. Over 2 points per game in the OHL is pretty awesome, but there's the whole 5'9" thing.
I thought Rossi's biggest issue was not his scoring but rather his skating.. who for a smaller guy really needs to be above average, though Cole Caufield might disagree

Proman has a new listing and has Drysdale at 8. Given he is the best D in the draft I would not be upset if LA took him at 5.
his top 5 are
1: Lafreniere
2: Byfield
3: Stuzle
4: Rossi
5: Askarov

Side note: he has Yanic Perreault's son at 12

He’s not a world-class skater, but skating is by no means a weakness. He’s a very good skater.

ESPN also has their rankings out (subscription needed)...but you know it's ESPN reporting on hockey so no point in looking at.

I keep reading how the Kings got/get screwed for the draft lottery. But everybody in the top 3 gets similarly "screwed" (until they don't) by design. The odds of winning the lottery by initial draft position:

Totally get that but falling back 3 spots i think is less than 50% odds of happening too. I like the lottery and don't think LA got "screwed", just sucks they lost the lottery. Was really hoping for Kakko.

Either screwed or snakebitten. Only time we ever drafted 1st overall was when the franchise was founded in 1967 - we drafted Rick Pagnutti in the 1967 NHL Amateur Draft, whom basically had a ten-year career in the minor leagues.

While I agree, my bigger concern is landing a top-6 pick. I'd be most happy with Lafreniere. From there, I don't think anyone's guaranteed to have the next-best career. Byfield, Raymond, Stutzle, Drysdale, Rossi.

I admittedly don't know a lot about Lundell, Holtz, or Perfetti, though. I need to watch more of them. I gather what info I can from YouTube and articles, unfortunately. But hey, that's why I don't make the decisions!

I think Lafreniere is the slamn dunk one and Byfield is slamn dunk 2. After that I think there are 4-6 guys that could all go 3. However I am sure I will change my view on this 10x over before the draft

Byfield is so young (almost a full year younger then lafreniere) and dominating the OHL. With his physical tools, age, and production he is the clear #2 to me. Then I think there is a group of forwards that would be excellent fits on our team. I'm not at all opposed to Drysdale. But without seeing our current F prospects at the NHL level I'm still hoping for a game breaking F prospect so at the moment, Stutzle and Rossi are my favorites outside of the top 2. Followed by Holtz

Same. Admittedly I lean forward 3-6 over Drysdale, because if he were that kind of special he'd be solidly in the 2/3 discussion.

It's time to tank and just lose the rest of the way. Move TT, Martinez and Lewis. Carter, Brown and Quick if any decent offers. Bring up Frk, Grundstrom and Clague.

The next win I want is winning the lottery. If do not win, draft a fire breathing offensive dynamo, which there is one - Marco Rossi. Stutzle and Perfetti may be ones too.
Byfield is intriguing, but just not seeing dynamic in him. One thing though, he's 17 and does not turn 18 until August! So I would probably take him 2nd, but Rossi
may end up being the better player. I think it's possible that Byfield could be a Keith Primeau....where you don't get the elite results from the size and skill package, but end up with a pretty good player.
Too hard to say though. I want dynamic and that's Lafreniere and to a slightly lesser degree, Rossi.
