If Rossi had excellent speed, I’d pick him 2nd overall for sure.
What are the chances he develops his speed to become very good? He looks like Alfredsson completely but Alfredsson was taller and bulkier which was pretty significant in how it made Alfie efficient protecting the puck against 6’5 defenders.
I just really hope we get Laf.

If he is a legitimate 5 foot 9, 187lbs at 18, that's quite bulky.

He's definitely stocky enough as is (even if 187 isn't legit, he's definitely over 180).

My only question with Rossi would be how much more weight can he realistically put on assuming he's going to stay in that 5'9 - 5'11 range for his whole career. It's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things since he brings so much else to the table, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who will be able to play at ~200 lbs (like Alfie did).

Alright well since the season is probably over, so I'll do my top 20,

1. Alexis Lafreniere - LW
2. Lucas Raymond - LW/RW (RS)
3. Quinton Byfield - C
4. Tim Stützle - LW/C
5. Alex Holtz - RW/LW (RS)
6. Jamie Drysdale - RD
7. Marco Rossi - C/LW
8. Anton Lundell - C
9. Cole Perfetti - LW/C
10. Jake Sanderson - LD
11. Rodion Amirov - RW (LS)
12. Dawson Mercer - C/RW
13. Kaiden Guhle - LD
14. Jack Quinn - RW
15. Dylan Holloway - C/LW
16. Connor Zary - C
17. Seth Jarvis - RW
18. Yaroslav Askarov - G
19. Noel Gunler - RW
20. Shakir Mukhamadullin - RD (LS)

Give me
Laf or Raymond
Byfield or Stutzle
Quinn or Jarvis

I would be as pumped as possible with that outcome.

Yea since he can’t get much better than he needs to definitely have very good speed to be a consistent star in this league

Some random thoughts. Feel free to offer insight. Keep in mind I've seen more European and NTDP hockey than junior this year. Probably only seen Rossi and Quinn four times. In rough order:

Best players through the neutral zone: Stutzle, Sanderson, Amirov

Best below the hashmarks: Lafreniere, Byfield, Amirov

Best in the high slot: Holtz, Quinn, Amirov

Best around the net: Lafreniere, Lundell, Zary

Best OZ cycle: Stutzle, Byfield, Lafreniere

Best defensive transition defense: Sanderson, Schneider, Drysdale

Best zone defense: Mukhamadullin, Niemela, Schneider

Best offensive transition defense: Drysdale, Sanderson, Rafkin

Best OZ defenseman: Drysdale, Andrae, Poirier

Best powerplay operators: Stutzle, Rossi, Holtz

Most purely skilled: Stutzle, Raymond, Stranges

Most creative: Perfetti, Stutzle, Mercer

If Lafreniere is off the table then I hope we grab Byfield and Stutzle and call it a day. Both are Center and We can use 2 centers. Raymond would be my other option

Duclair - Byfield - Batherson
Formenton - Stutzle - Norris
Brown and pinto should be good centres. Pinto and stutzle probably fine at wing.

My thinking on Seth Jarvis has been similar to Lucas Raymond. Jarvis maybe moreso than Raymond plays a hard-on-puck, high-compete game, and it's part of what makes them so impressive at the junior level, but are they going to be able to win those battles and fight for position at the NHL level? In my opinion Raymond is more equipped to succeed with a game more reliant on skill in NHL. Sure Jarvis is a beast in WHL right now at 18. I just watch Raymond's SuperElit game on ProspectShifts from back in October of 2018, just turned 16 with 8 games SuperElit experience the previous season, and he was already a gamebreaker in that league. No doubt the WHL is a better league than SuperElit, but by how much? I'd say SuperElit it is somewhere in QMJHL/USHL range. Also Jarvis just looks skinny. He wouldn't be fairing any better than Raymond at the pro level right now.

The size coooould be an issue. But he’s as fast as alfie was.

Marchand for example is listed at 5’9” 181lbs

Best hitters in my opinion are Alexander Nikishin, Will Cuylle, Nick Capone and Matthew Rempe.

Define "powerhouse".

Chabot (we know he can be an elite 1D with proper support), Tkatchuk (1st liner unique play style), Byfield/Laf/Stuzle (Elite 1st liner potential), Batherson (1st liner potential), Norris (1st/2nd liner potential), JBD (1st/2nd pairing potential), Thomson (1st/2nd pairing potential) along with a cast of others like Duclair, White, Wolanin, etc and whatever the other pick ends up and we have the potential to have one of the deepest core groups in the league. Perennial contender potential.

I see the word "potential" a lot. I think we're lucky to be competing for a playoff spot in three years.

I just read an article that said, if he have playoff Montreal are in. Because 12 team per conference. Yes less team in the lotery. Let’s go play the playoff

Yes because don’t finish the season when start playoff and team complain about, team have less game play etc. The four best team per conference go to the second round

Oh, that would be interesting? How would the match-up play out then?

I hope this happens, because, then, they would not think about altering the lottery for bubble teams (not that I think it will or should happen anyway)
