Oh, that would be interesting? How would the match-up play out then?

I hope this happens, because, then, they would not think about altering the lottery for bubble teams (not that I think it will or should happen anyway)
I just know that Montreal playing against Pittsburgh but don’t know other

Marchand seems faster than Rossi.
true. but i wonder if that is just a leg strength thing. I don't know how fast marchand was at the same age. and even then the speed difference isn't huge if there even is one. rossi can go pretty good.

The thing about Rossi is that he might have the highest hockey IQ in the draft. Obviously not as physically gifted as Lafreniere and Byfield but he projects very well to a Alfredsson, Marchand, Crosby, Kucherov type frame. And those players can go toe to toe with anyone in the league.

He also has the intelligence to play effectively with his frame. He is constantly out-battling bigger opponents on the boards and on critical areas of the ice. He also keeps his game simple utilizing his vision and hockey sense to make play as well as his hands when he has to.

Perfetti imo is a lot more of a risk. Not noticably faster than Rossi, weaker, and uses flash and dash a lot more. Which won't work near as often against NHLers.

The decision between Rossi and stutzle is a tough one for me. I’ve been coming down on the Rossi side but it’s really hard to pass on that stutzle skill.
Stutzle will probably sell more tickets (for real) and that may even be a consideration at this point. (?)
Although it’s not like Rossi is a boring player or anything. And if we’re drafting byfield and have a team with tkachuk Norris chabot brannstrom bath formenton pinto, should be no lack of entertainment.

There I talked myself in to Rossi again :)

@bert continuing our convo from the closed thread.

what big forwards are there outside of byfield? And I’m not sure this team is being built big either. Tkatchuk sure. Brown is big but he doesn’t have the same style as tkatchuk. Same goes for batherson

Some guys will be available later without the playoffs and U-18's to pump their profiles. Saint John had 4 guys who would have been U-18 invites, Porier the only guy already getting mainstream exposure. No U-18's leaves those 3 (Villeneuve, Desroches, Brurns) under exposed.

Sens use the end of year bigtime when evaluating guys, those who elevate their games in playoffs and international events impress our brass every year.

What leagues are officially cancelled? From what I understand the QMJHL, OHL, WHL and USHL are temporarily suspended and any decisions to end the season will be decided at a later date. But to your point a situation like this could result in a lot more fluctuation in the rankings.

Some players are ranked pretty low here. This is where some of the notables for me ended up:
Maxim Beryozkin (64), Maxim Groshev (107), Will Cuylle (114), Cross Hanas (127), Carson Bantle (128), Egor Sokolov (146), Dylan Peterson (153), Luke Tuch (154), Tyler Kleven (155), Matthew Rempe (164), Landon Slaggert (176), Grant Slukynsky (182), Alexander Gordin (203), Maxim Krovyakov (212). I also didn't see Carsen Richels, Cole Hansen, Nick Capone, Anthony Tabak, Logan Barlage and Danil Bashkirov who I feel all should be ranked.

I wouldn't expect the CHL to be back

This team is being built for a high compete level. Tkachuk leads the way and then when we add the likes of Noris, Formenton, Batherson and more recent additions like Thomson, Pinto, Kastelic and Hawryluk the emphasis seems to be players that will out battle the opposition.

The Sens appear to be building a bigger team but it also seems like they value compete over size. For example Thomson, Kelly and Hawryluk are more averaged sized but they have a very high compete level.

There are plenty of big forwards available for this draft. Here are some players worth looking into:
Jaromir Pytlik (6'3 196 lbs), Will Cuylle (6'2 201 lbs), Carson Bantle (6'4 201 lbs), Dylan Peterson (6'4 192 lbs), Egor Soklov (6'4 240 lbs), Brandon Coe (6'3 195 lbs), Andrei Bakanov (6'2 218 lbs), Luke Tuch (6'2 203 lbs), Maxim Groshev (6'2 194 lbs), Maxim Beryozkin (6'2 201 lbs), Maxim Krovyakov (6'3 181 lbs), Bogdan Trineyev (6'3 176 lbs), Anthony Tabak (6'4 203 lbs) , Nick Capone (6'1 209 lbs) , Matthew Rempe (6'8 205 lbs), Carsen Richels (6'3 209 lbs) , Cole Hansen (6'2 201 lbs) , Logan Barlage (6'5 205 lbs)

I could expand this list further if we included all forwards 6' or taller.

Yeah it seems unlikely but I know a few leagues just cancelled their play and a few others suspended it until further notice. I guess the scouts will be forced to just watch tapes of players and hope for the best. There are recordings for all CHL and USHL games so they will have something to work with but missing out on the final stretch and the playoffs could lead to certain players falling that should go much higher.

Alright well since the season is probably over, so I'll do my top 20,

1. Alexis Lafreniere - LW
2. Lucas Raymond - LW/RW (RS)
3. Quinton Byfield - C
4. Tim Stützle - LW/C

5. Alex Holtz - RW/LW (RS)
6. Jamie Drysdale - RD
7. Marco Rossi - C/LW
8. Anton Lundell - C
9. Cole Perfetti - LW/C

10. Jake Sanderson - LD
11. Rodion Amirov - RW (LS)
12. Dawson Mercer - C/RW
13. Kaiden Guhle - LD
14. Jack Quinn - RW
15. Dylan Holloway - C/LW
16. Connor Zary - C
17. Seth Jarvis - RW

18. Yaroslav Askarov - G
19. Noel Gunler - RW
20. Shakir Mukhamadullin - RD (LS)

Awesome list

What is great is we should have the chance to draft once in every color group I have made

Starting from positions #2 and #3, I don't think it's very probable that we drop 3 spots on both picks... so one top-4 and another top-6 is very likely

If Rossi had excellent speed, I’d pick him 2nd overall for sure.
What are the chances he develops his speed to become very good? He looks like Alfredsson completely but Alfredsson was taller and bulkier which was pretty significant in how it made Alfie efficient protecting the puck against 6’5 defenders.
I just really hope we get Laf.

Don't worry we'll get the last Lauf
