Posted this in another thread but i think it was closed.

I havnt been following the draft prospects this year (bought a house and am remoddling it myself) so dont really know much about this kid.

Alex Lafreniere is the best 1oa pick since ____________?

I also think the pieces the Rangers would move would be any of the younger players not named Kakko and probably Fox. Trading Kreider isn't getting you the young center, especially in the current cap situation.

McDavid.

Any chance Lafreniere takes a low number? Like 4? That's available, right?
I'd love forwards to take a low number. It looks so cool. I also like low numbers on pitchers, running backs, wideouts.

Kreider was in reference to something long term... as in to eventually move him. Can't see them paying $6.5m for a 3rd LW for long.

How about 111. Has that ever been done? He likes 11 but it’s retired! I’m so excited. I can’t believe it. Lol.

What is Ott calls and says 3, 5 and we take Staal off your hands?
Or 3,5 and Tkachuk. Before we won the draft I think I would do that trade but now the Lafreniere is a reality I want to keep him.

I've thought Laf is the 3rd best prospect since Crosby for a while, and now that the Rangers actually have that pick, I'm trying to lower my expectations on him, but I think he's going to be like Patrick Kane+

If that's true and Panarin/Kreider have long primes, we're going to have one of the best left wing trios of all time.

It's a historically weak position around the league and yet here we are.

Here's to hoping that that translates into some kind of advantage

He attacks the net the same way Kane does, but I would say with added aggression and shade below in the hands department.

At the very least it's gonna translate into two distinct dangerous power play units, unless they find some way to fit Laffy Taffy, Bread, Zibanejad, and Kakko all on the same unit.

So I'm gonna back track to something @BBKers said the other day.

While Guhle wasn't mentioned as a possibility for the 10 or 11 spot by anyone I know with the Rangers, I think he's fair game as possible trade-up with the Canes pick.

Of course the Rangers would actually have to find an asset to move up a few slots if he's on the board. And I don't think teams are interested in second round picks for next year.

Maybe there's an extra goalie laying around somewhere

Does anyone have a projection of where Lundell is picked? I've heard promising things.
