I'm not entirely convinced that letting Chytil play with one of Panarin, Kreider or Lafreniere doesn't go wonders for him at this point. I think he's become a major candidate to take a serious step forward next season.

The raw skill is there, you can see it. I think he just needs to work with a playmaking winger because, as I see it, his on-ice vision is his weakest asset.

Oh, and he also needs to start winning some damn faceoffs.

And that's where someone like Lafreniere could be benefit him. From a style standpoint, there's some potential compatibility there. The end result could be something not unlike Panarin's impact on a guy like Strome.

I know Laf is the media consensus for #1, but is it closer between him Byfield and Stuztle than many imagine?
I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the 3, but is Laf at 1 a certainty, or more correctly, 'should' it be a certainty?

Laf at No. 1 is a certainty.

I would realistically say he's a better/newer NHL version of Vinny Lecavalier.

Posted this in another thread but i think it was closed.

I havnt been following the draft prospects this year (bought a house and am remoddling it myself) so dont really know much about this kid.

Alex Lafreniere is the best 1oa pick since ____________?

He's realistically a better version of Vinny Lecavalier, IMO.

So with our first pick pretty much set, and since thats gonna be a winger, what centers in the 20-30 range should be our targets? Zary? Lapierre? Perreault?

Don't like any of them, but Zary would be the one out of the three. I would honestly reach on Khusnutdinov or Brisson if they want a center in the early 20's or snag a falling Holloway.

Unfortunately, I think Jarvis or Mercer won't be there....

Without trading up, I think the choice of C's will likely be some combination of Brisson, Bourque, Khusnutdinov, Foerster, and Perreault. I'm not in love with any of them really.

Connor Zary dropping to 20's?
I'm still for drafting BPA preferably a forward with speed and high energy (Liam Foudy type).

I know Mysak hasn't been getting much attention lately. Do you think he could be a sure middle six guy?

I like what Khusnutdinov brings to the table, same goes with Brisson. They both have solid all around games with good speed and puck control. The others can't play defense.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about him. I could see him in that mix, as well.
Even someone like Lapierre. Not so sure a team in the teens is gonna take a chance on him with his history of injuries. Before Laf there was no way i would take a chance on him with one of our first rounders but maybe if he's still there in the 20's...

Out of those 5, I'm highest on Brisson - and really for a pick in the low to mid 20's, he's a good pick - I just think there might be wingers or defenseman available there that I like more.

What number do people think Lafreniere will wear here?
Who do people think we take with our later pick, assuming we don't move it?
