Dach, Hayton, and Dobson are pending decisions by their NHL clubs.
There are players who are due to one reason or another, will not get an invitation or may get an invitation due to injury. Jet Woo who did not look good against during the 2 WHL games vs the Russian Selects. There were several occasions where he was not able to defend against the Russian forward or lost his positioning. He appeared to be the worst WHL defender during the 2 games. He has not put up good stats compared to other 5 WHL defenders.

Peyton Krebs 'invitation will be pending on his performance in WHL from Nov 20-Dec 2nd. HC scouts will be watching him carefully.

I see many people have Lavoie as a first liner and many don’t have him in the roster at all. Any reasoning for that? I think he makes the team for sure. I think he can play 2nd line minutes.

I'm not a big fan of him but I feel like he's either a top 6 forward or a HS. He's too sloppy to play a bottom 6 role.

Here are camp invite list prediction:

Lafreniere Veleno Lavoie (replacing Dach)
McMichael Byfield Noel (chemistry during 2 games)
Perfetti Thomas Tomasino (great chemistry during 2 games)
Foudy Dellaandrea Cozens (checking line)
Foote Groulx Mercer
Rees

Byram Bernard-Docker (Byram demonstrated excellent offense)
Bahl Harley
Smith Barron (Smith is better in the third pair, demonstrated less offensive talent)
McIsaac Merkley
Chisholm Addison
Tychonick Drysdale

Daws, Nico
Rodrigue, Olivier
Hofer, Joel
Hunter Jones

I don’t say this often, but that is a terribly constructed roster.

My knowledge isn’t spread very well throughout the OHL and WHL but here are my lines.
-
I’ll include all the NHL pends but I feel Hayton and Dobson will play for sure but Dach is questionable.
-
Lafreniere “A” | Veleno “C” | Thomas
Hayton “A” | Dach | Cozens
Krebs | McMichael | Lavoie
Foudy | Groulx | Dellandrea
Foote/Byfield
-
Smith | Dobson “A”
Byram | Bernard-Docker
McIsaac | Addison
Harley
-
Rodrigue
Hofer
Jones

Your not allowed to say shirley JackSlater that in considered trolling. Trolling is absolutely not tolerated on this forum. Because if i tell you to stop, i get a private message telling me im in violation. Lmao, yes....me? Your allowed to attack me but im not allowed to defend myself? Sorry hfboards, it doesnt work like that. The user is provoking AND trolling me but im not allowed to defend myself? That is like getting assaulted and as soon as you try to push your attacker off your trouble? I don't think so :help:

Perfetti has to at least get an invite to the camp in December. Hes an amazing skater who can create plays and finish as well. I won't be shocked if he doesn't get an invite because he is young but come on.

Somewhat shocking to me that some actually think Byram won't make the team (let alone play a prominent role).

That seems like a jump the shark moment for this thread as far as I am concerned.

Edit: After having given it some thought, perhaps I should not be surprised at all if Byram fails to make the team. We are talking about Hockey Canada after all.

It will be interesting. I doubt he will be available next year for the WJC based on Sakic's recent comments on Vancouver radio.

I like the progress of Krebs and McIsaac. I’ve lost hope for Dach - which is good in the grand scheme of things - but I think we will get Hayton and Dobson as well as Veleno.

Lafreniere-Veleno-Newhook
Krebs-Hayton-Cozens
Byfield-McMichael-Noel/Thomas
Foudy-Dellandrea-Fortier
Pelletier

Smith-Dobson
Byram-JBD
McIsaac-Harley
Bahl

Rodrigue
Jones/Hofer

f***, yes. Best defense in the tournament, most dynamic offense from top to bottom. Goaltending is somewhat meh right now. I think the hope would be for Jones or Hofer to really step up and take the job from Rodrigue. In a short tournament like this, you want a hot goalie who has the capacity to be great over the guy who’s dependable but not really outstanding in any way.

The US should have a very strong team powered by their top-6 this year. But you put Foudy, Dellandrea, and Fortier out there against Caufield and Turcotte, and they’ll never get through the neutral zone or be able to collect themselves in the offensive end. Then you roll the three other lines, who are all pretty much equally dynamic and well-balanced in terms of skill sets, and blow up the other matchups. All three D pairs can defend very well with each individual possessing good to great puckmoving ability and a dynamic offensive force on each pair.

If Krebs plays today, he has a shot at probably 9 or 10 games prior to the WJC camp. Hopefully his Achilles is healed up and he's ready to go heading into the camp.

update on Krebs. didn't play last night. not sure why. easing him slowly or still not fully recovered?

maybe some of our Winnipeg compatriots or DUB followers can chime in with the full scoop.

Newhook on the top line?
I’m guessing you have not watched one game this year at BC?

Also If Hayton plays like he did last night he’ll be back for sure.
He’s not ready for the NHL, based on what I watched last night.
Good for Team Canada though.

Yeah, his energetic playstyle, quick feet and mind, and finishing ability should mesh with Lafreniere - who would be the play driver on that line - very well. As I went on to explain, I’m looking for a balanced top-9. Either way, Newhook is over a point per game in college over his last 7 or 8 games. Boldy, who is being projected into the US’s top-6, has a single point. I really don’t see where you’re coming from.

Newhook got those points in 4 games vs the 2 worst teams in hockey east. It's pretty unlikely Newhook makes the team this year and if he does it'd be in a 13th F role(should be a good battle in camp for that spot though). Foote+Poulin will more than likely make it over him as they have a more polished game. Lavoie is another who's shown well and likely makes it over him

Easing him in. Winnipeg is playing back-to-back this weekend, and they planned on using him in the second game.
