Bennett sucked too didn't he? Monahan for 2 years (retained) is exactly the kind of realistic target we should look at.

None of them expensive UFA's like Danault or pending UFA's like Reinhart. That would never happen.
Sam Bennett was routinely stapled to the 3rd and 4th line, or healthy scratched.

Sean Monahan relies on Johnny Gaudreau to produce. If Gaudreau doesn't produce, Monahan doesn't produce. He's also softer than soft. One of the very last players I would target.

Also lol @ how you say the actual UFA or pending UFA would never happen, but Sean Monahan retained is realistic.

Of course. Flames have to make drastic changes...Kadri for Monahan makes sense for them. Even if they have to retain the difference.

With Landy, Makar and Mack contracts coming up, Avs arent in the business of giving away big money long term to middle 6ers. We've got a preview with Bura and Nuke.

And again, those "major" changes don't include trading and retaining on Sean Monahan in order to acquire Nazem Kadri.

I'd rather target Lindholm than Monahan.

Amen to what you and Peckerskull said!!

Of course a couple of astute posters have also said we should worry about a 3C more and hope either shitforbrains or Newhook are 2C.

I'm still intrigued by Danault.
We've got our 3C in Tyson Jost, he's earned every opportunity to start next season in that role. Give me ****ing Elias Lindholm, baby.

Are you doing Kadri for Kuznetzov at Washington ??
While I think Kuznetzov is the superior player on the ice, it would be hard for me to deal with his shit off the ice. He's been suspended by the Caps twice this year, both times for violating team rules and both times he ended up with COVID, and there's the obvious cocaine issue.

It's like choosing between Night Train or Thunderbird. Both are cheap wine and will get you drunk, but both are equally terrible, and you'll still feel like shit the next day after drinking them.

There are A LOT of players with that in the NHL, and I'm sure the Avs have some guys.

People complaining about Kuznetsov's cocaine issues know nothing about Naz prior to him coming to Colorado. Back when he would go on cold streaks, some Leafs fans would say he either just came off the blow or just went on it. He also had internal issues with the Leafs on a few occasions. He's grown up and remedied some of his issues, which is awesome; I don't see why the same generosity can't be given to Kuznetsov.

And even then, I don't know why Washington would make that trade. Kuznetsov is more valuable than Kadri, even with his current issues.

You don't think it would be tiresome if they played Dr Feelgood after every time Kuznetzov scored a goal?
