Yea this is a terrible takeGross. Laine is trash and won’t be in the NHL within 3 years. That floater bought into his early hype and hasn’t done anything since plus he’s a head case.

I don't see a top 5 pick. It was take a massive losing streak to get close. The Kings have games in hand, plus Seattle is guaranteed in the top 5.So like 2021 1st + Kupari + 2/3rd? I don’t know, teams stock in falling right now. That 1st could end up top 5. And nobody on Philadelphia impresses me, other than Provorov, minus this year. I think they’re defense prospects got insanely overrated. Maybe I’m wrong.
I’d hold out until they see where they’re drafting.
Sanheim is RFA this summer coming of a 3.25 mil a year contract
Hanifin is signed 3 more years after this year at 4.95 mil per year than UFA
I like Hanifin more than Sanheim.
The plan is working. the cupboard is stocked and the Kings are more competitive than the last couple seasons. Doughty is signed through 2026-27. Blake wont be moving Drew.Blake and AEG need to decide if they’re going to try 1 or 2 kicks at it while Doughty and Kopitar have some gas left. The moves seem to indicate that they’re playing the long game which is probably the correct move. At what point does Doughty ask to be moved?
As expected, Gostisbehere clears.
Surprised, but not surprised. I still want him on the Kings though.
Rob should call them and ask for Ghost and a second rounder for a 2076 7th rounder

On top of what he’s owed this season, adding an additional $6.5 million in real dollars to the payroll isn’t something most teams are going to willingly take on, especially via waivers.
Not sure how anyone thought any team would put in a claim without salary going out. Like I said when he was placed on waivers, he’ll clear and the Flyers will have to retain and take on another contract in order to move Gostisbehere.
I don't understand your logic herewhy would the flyers do that in season. If they are desperate to get rid of his cap I do not think it will cost a 2nd given how ghost is still very useful and that cap is not that atrocious.
Maata for Ghost Saves Flyers some cap, gives LA the better player and doesn't put LA at the max 50 contracts. I would do Maata + 3rd

They were willing to give him away from essentially free because they are rumored to want someone else
They wanted him gone , likely for a dman upgrade and because they needed cap space.
Maata is not a real upgrade over Ghost.
A Maata trade would save Philly 1,166,775 which is just about the same savings they get from sending him down .
Philly would not take your offer and I don't think the Kings would do it either.
As expected, Gostisbehere clears.
We are tied with Dallas for 10th overall and play Vegas again tonight. After tonight we will probably be in sole possession of 10th.
Powers
Hughes
Edvinsson
Clarke
Lambos
- all may go top 10
throw in Wallstedt and we have 6 players that would fill a need.
I like holding on to the puck until draft day and see how things shake out. We have the prospects to move up the draft as well.

This is my biggest issue with the Kings rebuild (as I've mentioned before). There is just to big a gap between Kopitar and Doughty and Byfield and all the young prospects. When Byfield and all these teenagers are ready to be impact players what are AK and DD going to be as players? That is why I am so pro trading for Eichel if he does indeed become available, but who knows if he's even available or what his injury status is.
As far as Doughty being angry, same thing I said about Karlsson on the main board. If you want more freedom to not get stuck in a rebuild or on a terrible team then don't sign for 8 years. These guys want their cake and want to eat it too.

That's not what he is saying. Properly built rebuilds have bridge players. The gap between impact is a dozen years. You have to have a mid 20's star or core player to cross over. Otherwise you are gambling on every single one of the young players to not only succeed but flourish. So you want to limit the future to maximize the past?
Kopitar and Doughty are fantastic players but building around them instead of in spite of them is a ticket to the darkest reaches of the fabled black hole.
