What better way to make Kopitar say, “Jesus, do I have to do everything around here?”
It was more like Sutter saying, "You might want to get your ass off the boards and take the puck to the net."

After seeing DD's comments, I figure we need Attila The Hun as coach.

Over the last few years, we've settled for Attila The Hon'.

As in, "Sure, Hon', I'll get you a beer".

Brown, on whether he spoke with Ilya Kovalchuk over the off-season:
I didn’t really talk to him much, but that’s a pretty good question for him. I don’t know what he’s thinking. He’s always prepared. I’m guessing he had good testing. I’m assuming after last season he’s excited for a fresh start, as well.

I keep seeing uptempo everywhere in regards to the Kings. I'll be absolutely pissed if they show zero effort again this year. And you bet if I got Stevens to vaporize towards the Sun, I won't hesitate the strap Kopitar to my next rocket. Show some heart you Slovenian clown.

Seriously, is anyone attending training camp? I'd love to hear impressions of the team this year.
Went to the event on Saturday. Was great to see the guys up close. The scrimmage was very up tempo, back and forth, limited checking, though there were some hits along the boards,
Some new players that caught my eye with some nice plays were: Proks, Clague and Sodergran. The speed of some of the guys caught me by surprise - especially Lizotte and Fagemo.
It was only the first scrimmage, so I don’t put much stock into what I was seeing, but the young guys (Akil, Kaliyev and Mikey) do have a lot of talent, but still need time to take it to the next level.

How did Grundström and Durzi look?

Grundström has been looking as exactly as advertised and as he showed in his stint with the big club last season. Still, I could see him in the AHL for most of this year. It wouldn't be because he isn't NHL ready, but because the team might want him to play a big role with the group of players down there who should represent the next wave for us.

Durzi has looked fantastic, in my opinion. He weathered some physical hockey against Anaheim and San Jose in the rookie tournament and showed great decision-making with the puck. I believe he was paired with Bjornfot and Anderson mostly, and I could definitely see either combo being a future 2nd pairing for the Kings within 2-3 years.

I agree Grunstrom looks NHL ready. I just don't see any benefit to sending a player down to the minors who already has shown he has the right stuff at both levels. The structure he plays with on the ice screams NHL. This is something that Luff and Wagner struggle with at times. I really don't see Grundstrom stepping foot back into ONT. Grundy has the ability to be a good middle six forward. Anderson and Bjornfot will be NHLers, very little doubt in my book. They already have the hockey IQ to play in the league, just need to mature and develop a bit more, especially anticipating the speed and strength of the opposition in the transition game. Durzi surprised me a little in the rookie tourney, looking forward to these guys in ONT for a year or so.

I also think Lizotte and JAD have good shots, but also with Forbort probably not being ready, (LHD) Clague may make it, if he has a great camp and games. I know Ryan will have a good chance to be among the 6 with Forbort out.
I think Michael Anderson may have a shot as well. If he's in Ontario, fine, but think he's a fixture by next season. I know the 'plan' is to send Bjornfot back to Sweden, but wonder if there's a chance he plays in Ontario. May actually be better for him and the Kings, so he plays on the smaller ice and adapts quicker...OR is it arranged if he does not make the Kings, he MUST go back to Sweden? Either way, he will be here next year.
I think Grundstrom is on the team...unless he has a bad camp and games.
It would be 10 times better for Tobias Bjornfot to play in SHL than the AHL where he will be battling for minutes. I'd rather see him play in the SHL and World Juniors and then perhaps make the jump to North America next season...Like to see the Kings do badly again so we can fetch and top 5 pick again and perhaps another first rounder and multiple seconds so we can shore up the RD position for the future...Jamie Drysdale ...Braden Schneider...

Thanks good to hear Grundstrom and in particular Durzi look impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if Durzi becomes the sleeper from this deal. He impressed me in the memorial cup, much better than I recall him play earlier, he may be a late bloomer, very intelligent player with offensive instincts. Think he will justify the Kings taking him over the at time erratic Lilegren in last year's Muzzin trade.

I totally forgot Porky's in camp this year really curious how he's going to do in pre-season.
