Here's a look at those remaining on the roster.

Roughly 9-10 of those players will likely be reassigned in the upcoming week.

My guess as to how it shakes out:
- Lizotte and Mario Kempe make the roster
- Forbort on IR
- Bjornfot back to Sweden
- Petersen, Anderson-Dolan, Kupari, Frk, Prokhorkin, Anderson to Ontario
- LaDue and possibly MacDermid are waived

Heard deal for Prokhorkin to come over to North America was to make the team not the AHL.I dont believe Mario Kempe is making this team and will be in the AHL.

Based on performance, I don’t see what Prokhorkin can do in a bottom six role. He hasn’t been very impressive, forcing a lot of passes to linemates who didn’t survive the latest round of cuts. Although it would be nice to see what he can do if he’s put in a more productive role.

I do like that he doesn’t seem to shy away from making contact, but for the most part, he hasn’t outplayed any of the other centers in training camp.

Amadio shouldn't be centering line 4. He's shown he has the ability and aptitude to excel offensively and can handle 3C. He's gifted and
the better option on PP2 for that matter. Kid can shoot and score. He's had 6 and 7 shots the last 2 games I believe. I think if Kempe has 2C and
comes out flat the first 7 or so games and Amadio is playing well, would give him a shot. 2C was the weakest position last year.

there's some pretty nasty 2Cs in this league though, i'm not sure he can handle that just yet

i'd like to see prokhorkin get some work up there too since he's at least had the high level KHL experience

I'd like to see what he can do with higher quality linemates. He also looks like a player that could also do well at LW. He skates better than advertised and uses his size. I really think asset management will come into play here though in the long run. While he could play in the AHL if the Kings can convince him to stay (vs the opt out European clause) taking on a top six role in ONT, I'm not sure the Kings risk IF they feel he worth the effort and his skills will translate. Hopefully he slots in for another game or two to see what he can bring to the table.

I'll take Amadio, Prokhorkin or anyone over Kempe at 2C. We're gonna struggle anyway. For the love of god I hope they move Kempe back to LW someday.

It looks like the competition for roster spots will come down to contracts and injuries.

Prokhorkin hasn't done anything to earn a spot in the top 6 yet, or even make the team.

Right now, the standouts who are really going to make decisions tough for the Kings are Bjornfot, Anderson and Lizotte. Amadio should also be a lock so I'm not considering him because he was already somewhat of a regular last season.

I wish the team would just cut ties with the dead weight who have no future here and start anew. There are young players in camp who work hard versus some of the older guys who are just going through the motions, and they've been going through the motions for many years now.

Betting he’ll be back in Russia by Christmas, if not Thanksgiving.

Honestly, he looks like a player who thinks he has a spot locked and not putting in the work guys like Lizotte are doing to make the team . can't wait for Hoven to whine about him not making the team or getting a proper look.

How does an NHL team "cut ties" with players they no longer want but are under contract for several more years and have little to no value around the league?

Agree!

Since 2014 CUP :::::

Carter is about 20% of what he was. Toffoli about 40% of what he was. Lewis about 45% of what he was. And Quick....will not go there at the moment.
The only ones holding up from 2014 CUP : Brown 85% , Martinez probably 85%, Clifford about 90%, Kopitar is probably about 80%, Doughty about 80%.

Look at the 2013-14 players and stats. Not everything is goals, assists, pts, plus / minus....but look how things have changed in 5 years.
They are all fading. Except for Toffoli, 2013-14 was his first full year. He peaked 3 years ago and already going downhill fast.

Cut ties. Move forward. Now. It's Time!

A team will trade for a Trevor Lewis or a Tyler Toffoli. Look at the crap that got moved around at the deadline. Erik Gudbranson got moved and he isn't exactly a world beater. Oscar Fantenberg returned a fourth. I could see some interest in a Lewis or Toffoli.

The returns may not be great, hence my suggestion to just drop them (via trade) because they have nothing left to offer to the Kings and no future here. The players on the shorter term deals will be easier to jettison and the most likely ones to go anyhow.

Trevor Lewis will have value at the TDL but probably not until then. Do you really think he is part of the problem though? He's what is holding the team back? Yeah right. Toffoli is becoming radioactive...$4.6 million for what he brings? Who wants or needs that?? You didn't mention anyone else so I assume guys like Quick, Carter, Kovalchuk, Kopitar, et al are here to stay. "Cutting ties" with any of them is virtually impossible right now.

Lewis has been done for a while, and I'm still surprised he's with the team. I'm guessing without injury , he'd have been traded last season.

Agree with some of us here I just don't think Prokhorkin has any chance making this team. Unless he goes absolute nuts the next few games if he even plays, it's a long shot. But who knows anything can happen I'm actually rooting for the guy. I don't know why they just don't pair him up with his countryman Kovy maybe that might spark something. Unless they did I'm just not aware of it.

He does. However, there is going to be some adjusting time with coming to N. America. It wouldn't surprise me if he got assurances of an extended look when he came over. It's not like there's any expectations this year anyways. He's in a unique situation. Give him a long look, make sure, and move on if it doesn't work out.

I’m actually fine with a fourth line of Clifford/Carter/Toffoli/Lewis.

Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown
Anderson-Dolan - Amadio - Lizotte
Grundstrom - Kempe - Wagner
Clifford - Carter - Toffoli
Lewis, Kempe

Bjornfot - Doughty
Anderson - Martinez
Hutton - Walker
MacDermid

Try to trade Carter, Toffoli, and Kovalchuk if we can. LaDue doesn’t have a future on this team. Roy... I dunno. Think he gets passed up. I think if Anderson and Bjornfot are good enough to be on the team, you keep them up. New coach. No one “deserves” anything. Ice the best team.

Why trade Lewis though? Keep him as a mentor and fourth liner that works hard and can be plugged in higher in a pinch. You don’t want kids on the fourth line, in my opinion.

That first line is going to be wild.

Yeah, we have to be patient. They'll get traded, just when the acquiring team has the least amount of guaranteed contractual obligation. Nobody needs Lewis for October. Nobody might need Toffoli period.

How long is a while? If a guy is done, why would another team take him? He sucks, trade him. How?

So you've written off getting anything for Toffoli? That's the only reason to have him on the 4th line.

As fun as it would be to have JAD, Lizotte, Bjornfot, and Anderson all playing top 6/top 4 minutes, you do know there's basically no chance of that happening in Oct 2019, right? When it doesn't happen, don't blame management for not allowing it to happen.
