GDT: 2019 Training Camp Info/Roster

Toffoli and Pearson are just limited players. One wasn't drafted at 18(usually not a good sign), and the other is 1 of about 5 guys from the 2nd round in 2010 that are even decent players. It's not about accepting your role as a supplementary player, they are supplementary players. Very likely, no matter how much they try or train, that's what they are. You're either good looking, or at best you're average. There's only so much you can do with what you've got. That's kind of why we all want the Kings to be as bad as they can be, so they can get some actual talent, so that the future Toffoli and Pearson's of the team can add in whatever it is they do.

Both of them were very impressive in camp for their ages. They have a good chance of sticking next year.

They're both going to be 20 at this time next year, and the Kings still have to hit the floor while likely continuing to not really invest in the team. If, somehow, they could unload Kovalchuk and/or Carter at 50%, that's not going to make it easy to hit the floor, unless other crappy veterans come back. How many vets do you think won't be here? I can get up to 13 forwards that a case could be made for next year, and that includes a bunch of other young guys, who still may or may not work out. If they brought Clifford back, that's one more. If they signed some cheap UFA, that's another possibility. Most 20 year olds aren't playing in the league. Might be getting ahead of yourself there.

Yea, maybe a bit ahead. They definitely have a chance of sticking around though. I think they were every bit as impressive as JAD, and he got a few games in.

There's usually about 50 guys per season who get games in at 20 or younger each year.

Hard to see Roy not making the team, although he is waiver exempt. I would lean towards the Kings may keep 8D to see what clicks and only 1 extra forward to start the season. 9 games is irrelevant to Mikey Anderson, he is 20 years old.

Nothing definitive has been posted yet. Though with this being Trevor Lewis' hometown and Hutton has yet to play a preseason game, I'd expect those two.

Canuck lineup in Utah for reference...

Leivo - Pettersson - Boeser
Motte - Sutter - Virtanen
Pearson - Gaudette - Goldobin
Boucher - Graovac - MacEwen

Edler - Myers
Hughes - Tanev
Sautner - Chatfield
Brisebois

Bachman
MacIntyre

I guess we just all find out together about the Kings at 6pm. Heh..

The mayor tweeted out the probable D pairs and goalie

Amadio scores on pp 3 2 la 2nd goal for amadio
Interesting quote from McLellan:

I obviously know numbers, but I haven’t seen his evolution or his development, but from what I’ve seen here I think he’s obviously an NHL player. I think he has the ability to produce. We’re going to push him to do that and if he keeps applying himself the way he has to this point in camp I’m sure he’ll have a good year.
LAK 7, VAN 5: Box Scores, McLellan, Amadio, Lewis - LA Kings Insider

Suggests Amadio well on his way to making the team. Not a huge surprise, but he wasn’t a lock going in.

Here's a look at those remaining on the roster.

Roughly 9-10 of those players will likely be reassigned in the upcoming week.

My guess as to how it shakes out:
- Lizotte and Mario Kempe make the roster
- Forbort on IR
- Bjornfot back to Sweden
- Petersen, Anderson-Dolan, Kupari, Frk, Prokhorkin, Anderson to Ontario
- LaDue and possibly MacDermid are waived

My personal preference:
Centers - Kopitar, Carter, Kempe, JAD
LW - Kovalchuk, Iafallo, Grundstrom, Clifford
RW - Brown, Toffoli, Wagner, Lewis

Extra Forwards: Amadio, Prokhorkin

Defense: Doughty, Martinez, Hutton, Roy, Walker, MacDermid

Extra D: Anderson

I’ll counter with the following...
Iafallo-Kopitar-Brown
Kempe-Carter-Toffoli
Prokhorkin-Amadio-Kovalchuk
Lewis-Lizotte-Wagner
Clifford-Frk

Hutton-Doughty
Anderson-Martinez
Ryan-Walker
MacDermid

I see almost all our waiver eligible players being sent down.. except Mikey, whom I think has earned at minimum his 9 games. Also TMac stated that some of the youngsters will be sent down even with good camps because the team isn’t ready for them... he also said, some wouldn’t want to hear that but playing top minutes in Ontario is better than getting sparse PTO.
Obviously, everything after the Kopitar line is in the air but I feel confident in saying Kopitar, Carter, Amadio and Kempe are our C’s.. although I think it be best to move AK to LW and let BL run the 4th...

Yeah.. JAD isn’t playing over Amadio and for the first few games I can see Mikey being in the lineup over Walker/Roy/Ryan, he’s been that good
