There are tons of Canadians that don’t buy into this “bringing the cup home” crap. Just look at how people reacted to the media now trying to push Toronto on us as “our team” and “last hope”.
Yeah, but unfortunately, there are enough that do buy into it that I would probably avoid anything on this site that isn't F26 for a very long time should that actually happen.

And god help us if its Toronto that actually does win it. If it does happen, I hope its like Calgary or Ottawa (sorry to the SensCanes fans on here) and not one of the huge markets like Montreal or Toronto.

As soon as Winnipeg was eliminated last night the articles started appearing about how the leafs were now Canada’s team and our last hope to bring the cup home.

So glad they lost today and hope they get embarrassed in game 7.
I moved to Toronto in 2011. if I had simply bet for Toronto sports failure in the playoffs each year, I'd probably have enough to own real estate, even in this completely bonkers condo and property market. all that to say, I don't see any reason to expect differently this year.

Like I said, Jets/Preds/Flames and Pens were the most overrated teams in the entire league. No surprise they are out.

It’s still possible for 7 lower seeds to advance.

And for entire Western Conference to be made from lower seeds.

Although I hope Canes will be the only other lower seed to advance.

I wouldn’t be mad if VGK made it though. Hertl at Worlds... not too shabby.

I could look this up but I'm on my phone and -- I can't stress this enough, I don't want to -- but I think the exact same thing happened out west in 2006, leading to No. 8 Edmonton making the final.

I had dream last night. Vegas beat us in five games for the Stanley.

lol in all seriousness, no one likes to lose, but man I'd probably be on cloud 900 if we somehow were even in the position to lose in the cup finals lol

San Jose (5) over Nashville (4)
Anaheim (6) over Calgary (3)
Colorado (7) over Dallas (2)
Edmonton (8) over (edit) Detroit (1)

Yep

Opposite for 2005-06 Eastern Conference where all of 1-4 won their series in 6 or less games.
