There's some butt clenching in Toronto right now....
It is wonderful...

Perhaps Tavares should have chosen Boston instead, he "thought about it" apparently

:dunno:
He's probably thinking about it now, and will be thinking about it a lot of the next several years. Same with the Islanders.

I think he'll soon know exactly why it's close to impossible to win the Cup in Toronto's pressure cooker environment.

I liked your original post more.

Especially since the Pesce for Kadri proposals are coming soon and often.

Canes would be honored to be offered Kadri by such a great franchise. A fairer offer is Connor Brown. He played Top-9 for the greatest team ever IN THE PLAYOFFS! He'd be a lock for first line minutes in Carolina while Pesce would just be a mediocre Top-4 D for the Leafs.

Edit: So on 2nd thought, Canes need to take on Zaitsevs contract for that to be fair.

Pesce for Kadri? Nah, that's too even to be made by a Leafs stan, you need at least one Pesce for Brown, Zaitsev, and a 2nd proposal to really Leaf properly
You're right. My bad.

Kadri, Zaitsev for Pesce and we throw in their choice of Necas or our 1st for them being generous enough to offer Pesce's replacement in Zaitsev.

It really will be funny to see just how godawful the Leafs bargaining position will be in the upcoming off-season because of the upcoming Marner/Kapanen/Johnsson contracts and the albatrosses that they gave out to the likes of Zaitsev and Marleau('s third year). They may be forced to either overpay royally for a RHD or lose draft picks for cap dumps just because of their cap hell. Remember, the Canes have THE most cap space in the league. Waddell doesn't have to trade any RHD if the only offers he has are lowballs.
