I'm curious if us taking 2 more D high (1 of which is a high floor guy in Robertson) might be signifying that we are prepared to go out and try to add another young core forward...

It's just not official yet. I bet it will be before they can talk to other teams on the 26th else they risk them receiving offersheets for 4.x M and then having even less space available for Marner than they planned.
 
Who would be willing to include K'andre Miller as the big main piece going the other way in a Nylander trade

I think I'd be okay with it if push came to shove

We have a lot of depth in our D system, but Miller is the one guy who feels like he has a shot at being a first pairing defenseman, even if it's far from a sure shot.

I wasn't suggesting Miller as a move I'd want to just go out and make; but if the ask at the end of the day, and the only way would could make the deal, was Miller + fillers for Nylander; who would come around on it?

I would trade every single one of our prospects other than Kakko and questionable Kravtsov in a trade for Nylander.

Nope. K'andre Miller is the 2nd most non-tradeable prospect after Kakko.

I'm interested in Nylander though. Given the contracts being handed out like candy, I think he's on a very reasonable term.
 
I'd probably put Chytil ahead of Miller in a prospects listing (if he qualified), but I'd be more chill about moving him for Nylander if that makes sense

No.

I'm not trading away a guy who has the highest ceiling of all of our players aside from Kakko when Toronto is up against it.

I'd retain on Kreider so they can have now help and even add a lottery protected 1st for 2020 amongst other things.
 
Miller for Nylander straight up is pretty damn near fair value in my opinion. I just don’t feel compelled to do it. I’m sure no Leafs fan makes this move.
 
If you have Kakko and Nylander, where does that put Buch?
 
Trading Miller for Nylander is a no from me. Miller combines a lot of what every LHD prospect we have has.

Still think they are looking at moving Kadri and playing Nylander at C. Not that interested in Kadri. Kadri + Zaitsev being moved out over Nylander + Brown is their move.

If it is Nylander though, ADA could be on the table. Our LHD prospects outside of Miller. If they want a forward, you're looking at our 3 young centers. Buch isn't a fit there. They'd want an ELC.
 
So Panarin is visiting Florida. But Bob also said that they likely prefer Bob to Breadman.

Wonder when we’re gonna check in on him. I can’t imagine Gorton not poking around at the very least.

That’s whats up. Even if Dubas can get zaitsev off without taking much salary back. Yeah he could keep nylander, but then he can’t do the necessary work to make the defense championship caliber and next summer and the summer after that he’d be losing guys.

Nope, at least if he’s smart. You got 5 years of Matthews, that’s the windows. They already lost a year this season bc of the defense. He’s gotta move nylander now to create the space to add to the roster and be able to maintain it going forward. Unless the plan is to keep nylander, trade or take the picks for marner and use the 11.5 million on 2 defenders instead of the one trading nylander would enable you to bring on
