You tell me what you think. I was thinking a second rounder.

If you do not want a pick, what player do you want?

If Byram is there, I'm making the pick. If he is not there, then I would entertain a potential deal that would include Edmonton's 2nd round pick this year along with Edmonton's 3rd round pick in 2020.

That is an interesting scenario because if Byram is one guy that they really want and he isn't there then that means most likely the after the top two Byram is gone and either Turcotte, Podkolzin or Cozens are gone as well.

At picks 5-8, you will still have Dach, Krebs and Zegras most likely for sure and along with two of the forwards I listed above. Edmonton has the #38 pick which is only 5 slots below ours so it's a good one.

It hurts my brain to think about trading down and worrying about how far we would drop but still get someone good and if the return is worth it.

Can we just pick at 5 please. I don't want us trading picks this year.

5th for 8th & 38th is probably about right, gives the Kings the ability to take whoever is left of Cozens/Dach/Turcotte/Zegras/Podkolzin.

That is my thinking as well. I am thinking on the other end that Edmonton would really have to want someone quite badly to give up that high of a 2nd just to jump 3 spots. If so though, I would probably do a deal like that.

I'm sure their target would be Podkolzin, we all know they need wing help and may have to get ahead of Detroit to get it, unless they want to look down the board at Caufield/Kaliyev/Boldy.

Kaliyev and Caufield are vaulting up boards and could make it into the Top 10. I think Boldy seems to be getting pushed down a little bit. He dropped 3 spots from #6 to #9 in the CSB NA Skaters rankings. I think he represents a great value at #10 because there is always one guy who seems to slide.

Yeah, I'm a stubborn f***. I don't make the deal unless I get that 3rd in 20' or I'm sticking and picking one of the centres available at that slot. Build 'er down the middle if Byram is gone.

If anyone moves at the draft, hopefully it’ll be Campbell for another 2nd round pick.

Clifford has value and they should trade him if they are serious about getting younger. He should also return a second rounder. Forbort should also get a 3rd rounder.

You’d be looking at 11 + 3 more picks in the next draft.

1st round - 2 picks
2nd - 3 picks
3rd - 3 picks
4th - 2 picks
5th - 2 picks
6th & 7th - 2 picks

Draft Byram. Package Toronto pick and our #33 to move up and draft Caufield...
Trade Forbort for a 3rd or 4th rounder...
Quick(1 mil retained) for a 3rd or 4th rounder...

Package Kempe, Clague, and Iafallo for Trouba and resign him.

Kovalchuk-Kopitar-Brown
Prokhorkin-Carter-Kupari
Grundstrom-Vilardi/JAD-Wagner/Luff
Clifford-Amadio-Luff/Wagner

Byram-Doughty
Martinez-Trouba
MacDermid/Phaneuf-Walker

Campbell/Peterson

Hope for the best, if we suck, then another top pick next summer...still have solid guys coming up in next couple years in Thomas, Anderson, Caufield, Phillips, and Hults...

If we’re out of playoff contention, likely, move Martinez next trade deadline for a 2nd rounder...

Compliance buyout Carter and Phaneuf next summer...

as it stands I doubt we can make a move to acquire another 1st in this draft with that said i'd like the following
#5- Bowen Byram or Alex Turcotte... you guys know how I feel about Turcotte and his abilities
#23- Bobby Brink, Moritz Sider or Ville Heinola
#33- Nolan Foote or John Beecher
As for the lineup to start next season, well don't expect much of a change..

Kovalchuk - Kopitar - Brown
Prokhorkin - Carter - Toffoli
Iafallo - Kempe - Lewis
Wagner - Amadio - Luff
Clifford----open spot
Those in BOLD could be traded

Forbort - Doughty
Clague - Martinez... I think Kale wins a spot in the Summer, if not move Amart over and plug in one from below
Phaneuf - Roy/Walker
MacDermid

Quick
Petersen

Going to take alot more than that from the Kings to get Trouba, even if Winnipeg has to trade him (he may want to play in the states) they are going to get a much bigger return than one centered on Adrian Kempe.
