How do two guys who are projected at worst to be 2nd line Wingers(Cozens can play both) or Centers and have the skillsets to be #1's scare the crap out of you?
Well I 've watched Cozens dozens of times and he skates like he's in quick-sand...as for Dach, well he has size but doesn't use it much and disappears too often...For top 5 picks you'd think you would be getting top 3 forwards! Neither one will be top 3...with Dach possibly being a bottom 3...

Great, now we have to scroll to the bottom while HF boards continues to load extra ad's to get to the BOP link? GSO

Never seen Cozens, but agree on Dach. Noticed those things as well. Nice moves though. Really hope theyre able to grab Byram or Turcotte.

Cozens may not skate like a ballerina but he gets up and down the ice at least a average speed. He also has great balance on both or one left and is able to contort his body with the puck in the bully spots.

That's not accurate with regards to Cozens. Cozens does not skate like he is in quicksand. His skating for his size is actually quite solid. Look at every article and it's one of the first features that scouts cite in their reports. He plays at a high pace as well. This is one of about 20 reports on the guy out there and there is more than enough video to support the analysis:

The Draft Analyst | 2019 Draft Profile: C/W Dylan Cozens

Dach a bottom 3? Come on.... How many guys who have been rated in the Final NA Skaters Top 5 have ended up as a bottom 3 in that last decade? Guys don't get drafted that high unless they have skillsets that equate to potential for top line/s duty. Even if he ends up centering the 2nd line for a decade, that is a win when you consider how many guys actually impact at the NHL level.

Kirby Dach Scouting Report: 2019 NHL Draft #7 - Last Word on Hockey

I can respect it if you just don't like them. Everyone has their favorites but this makes no sense. I don't get the hatred for Cozens and Dach on this board by some. These are very good hockey players and elite prospects. Every single mock draft for the most part has them in the Top 5. Are all of the scouts, analysts and people who do this for a living just stupid and rank them for fun without extensive time spent viewing them?

I lean towards Turcotte and I would have no problem with Byram at all. I also would not have a meltdown if they chose Cozens or Dach. Right now, it appears that Byram is the flavor of the month which happens every year in the draft and people start feeling that unless they get one or two of the guys that they like, it's a disaster. That's not the case with this draft because of our positioning. You could make an argument for any of the guys that keep getting mentioned along with Zegras and Krebs.

If Toronto gets bumped out of round 1, you might look to move back from 5 get an asset, and then try to flip Toronto pick and a couple other picks to see if you can somehow end up with picks say 9 and 10 or 10 and 12

Caufield, Harley, Krebs, a couple of other good players would be available around those picks

Turn it into 7 picks and if you can convert it into 2 into the first 12.

Hoven was on the radio and seems to think Kings will consider something like this of course it would need to start by getting some assets to move down a few spots and they using those along with the Toronto pick to consolidate picks close together.

Whomever we get at 5 to 12 they most likely will not have chance to be on the Kings for a year or 2.
Think Turcotte will be going to Wisconsin next year

That’s ok, Turcotte is actually who I want for us. We always nail 2-4 so I’d be happy adding a second 2nd rounder. That’s 6 picks in rounds we usually hit home runs in...

I wouldn’t be moving anywhere that takes the Kings out of Cozens, Dach, Byram, Zegras or Krebs. Add in Podkolzin and it’s pretty much nothing further down from 8th.

I hope that they make the pick at #5 and then see how the board shakes out. I just think that when you have 3 picks that will all be within the first 33, you keep them and go BPA with every pick rather than try to be the smartest guys in the room.

The FO said they're looking to add even more picks to the 10 they have now, insinuating that some rentals will be dealt early. Seeing that they made a big deal of highlighting the importance of a top 10 pick in their presentation, I doubt they move down from 5 unless they know for sure that the player they have prioritized is going to be available a slot or two lower.

And we should because the first 3 rounds are going to be full of skilled players!
Call me crazy but I want a 3rd First rounder!!!
I want
Alex Turcotte... speed, skill, scoring, everything you want in a top 6 player

Moritz Seider... perfect compliment to the skilled but undersized guys in our pipeline

Bobby Brink... straight scorer!! Nuff said

Nolan Foote or John Beecher or both lol.. big dudes that can skate really well and are tough and gritty! Same as Seider, guys that can bang and open things up for more skilled players and create traffic in front of the crease.

Remember to let me dream you heartless bastards!! Kind replies, thanx

Lewis
Toffoli
Kovalchuk (with retention)
Martinez

And this is baseless speculation, but if they can't find a taker for Quick, maybe they look to move Jack Campbell, as his value won't get much higher.

My absolute favorite (forehead slapping) moment of the presentation is when some genius asked Luc if they planned on trading Quick in the off-season. Keep in mind that Quick started the game that day. Like dude, you sat here for an hour and got chosen to ask a question and THAT is what you come up with? It was like listening to a caller on the post-game show ask a question that you Nick and Daryl won't be answering honestly.

I don't think they move Kovy...
Tyler Toffoli
Trevor Lewis
Alec Martinez
Jack Campbell or Cal Petersen... one has to go
Kyle Clifford.. Maybe
