he also complimented Amadio.

Off with his head!

and considered Anderson (who has played 4 NHL games) as established.

In short that guy known nothing of the kings and should not be a pro-hockey writer for a company that is supposed write about all teams.

should be a local beat writer for an east coast team

Yeah, I didnt get how he thought Mikey was established but he'll get the chance to solidify his spot.. I think he plays out the season on the Kings then returns to Ontario should they qualify for the playoffs.. same for Vilardi

Keep in mind that a lot of these guys base their opinions on metrics and surprisingly, Amadio ranks as one of our better players lack of scoring aside.

It's true that he's actually doing a lot of good on the ice. The lack of confidence is apparent in the lack of production (and deflated shooting %)

This guy really does need to shoot more... His confidence seems at an all time low but TMac seems to believe in him and keeps running him out there.. Hopefully he gets it going

i think that was kinda the point of putting him out there with prokhorkin in that shootout in some weird roundabout way

coach trusting you to take a shootout attempt probably means a lot to the younger guys

I mean, he made a great move but then tried to get too cute at the end... You can see the skill but he needs to realize that himself and make more happen

If Amadio were waived tomorrow, I don't believe anyone would claim him. He's taking up a roster spot that we will need. Lots of the youngsters are using the current opportunity to earn a role for next season. Amadio has not. I hate to be mean or react too soon, but this guy has had his chance and fallen short.
I said the same thing during the final roster cuts and was reamed for it.

Well, that's because frankly, it's bullshit. People rode Dowd and others out of town on the same note and he's a contributing 4th line member of a SCF team.

Even if Amadio plateaus, he's providing 10g 20p from the bottom lines and has some of the best metrics on the team and IS showing improvement in all areas but production. It goes back to the issue this forum has blaming depth players. It would suck if he's just Trevor Lewis because some of us expect more, but that doesn't make him 'not an NHLer.' I mean, people were saying this same thing about Alex Iafallo as recently as this preseason. It's insane.

He needs to sit and think but waiving him is the red button option for some reason since no one has taken his job yet anyway.

Honestly just see him being surpassed. I like him but the production won’t translate at the NHL level. He’s not really a bottom six guy and not a true NHL top sixer. Just don’t think he is for LA very long. Maybe needs a shot elsewhere.

Surpassed, maybe. Why is he not really a bottom sixer, and why are we already jettisoning him? Who's taking his spot?

I had no idea general managers move players based on fan opinions. Sure, Dowd is fine on a great team, just like Vegas turned McNabb into something serviceable.

Yeah, I just think Amadio's confidence is completely shot. It's gotta be hard for some of these guys to go from being "the guy" in juniors and the AHL and then get six to ten minutes a night in the NHL. It often looks like he isn't trying, and he's a guy that needs to be putting forth 110% effort every shift. He's one of the few guys that looks disinterested every shift. And honestly that might just be my perception, I could be totally wrong on that. I just think he has a lot more to give.

He was always a scorer, not a grinder, not a banger. He doesn’t strike me as a defensive specialist. He won’t terribly hurt you as a fourth line center but doesn’t really move the needle at all. Guess it doesn’t matter if he is just gonna get 7 minutes or so a night.

He was the #1 center on the top defensive team in Juniors for a Sutteresque coach.

And a C, and a 50-goal scorer. He has the brain and most of the tools. Maybe he doesn't become more than what he is--but that's still a decent bottom-six option until he gets surpassed, and it's definitely a bad idea to give up on him this early given his slow growth at all levels (and even more so since no one has stepped up to take his spot).

My biggest complaints about him at this point are his mental game--the sagging shoulders and looking to the sky is pretty soft--and he's not physical at all when he was much more like Vilardi on the boards in junior--there wasnt' a puck battle he couldn't win-- but he's getting pushed around more than Lizotte here. I thought he'd fill out and get stronger but so far not so good there.

Some won’t make it. Some may go to wing. He will get pushed out tho.

Next year may be his last...even if he has a better camp than others.

I don’t hate him. Just don’t think he has much future on this team.
