Isnt that Craig Johnson's job?
They can have a 10 round shootout for the gig.

I think Clague's got a bit of a different skillset that we sort of need, though, more offense from the back end. This organization could use an elite offensive d-man. Not saying Clague's in that company, but he's a step in that direction.
I would be curious to see the floor. Kings might have to sign a couple of free agents to reach the floor. Next year's cap is at roughly $60 million. Kings don't have many RFA's, really only Walker that would deserve a significant raise.
Stockpile picks or prospects with the extra cap space. Anymore Marleau contracts out there?
16. Heard this after I spoke to Blake, but I think Pittsburgh considered Trevor Lewis before going the Buffalo route.
Hope we can get some free assets.
“Blake Lizotte hit a wall because he’s never played this many games before,”
The Athletic had Matt Roy listed as 6th in GSVA/WAR among rookies this year, just behind the top tier of Hughes, Merzlikins, etc. but ahead of Marino, Kubalik, and Olofsson.
Story of the year. Matt Roy. This 7th round pick is so flying under the radar, ESPN still thinks he's a LW in the box scores. After a rough first week, Roy has been nothing but gold overall. All of this for league minimum for this year and next season. . He has the 2nd pair right defensemen locked up. Looks like he pairs well with Mikey. If I'm the Kings, we start talking contract extension with term after July 1st for this just turned 25 year old. There is enough sample size here (92 NHL games) to show he has the right stuff. He was the best defensemen in ONT the year prior, and has not been scratched to my knowledge since he was called up last season.
Did you know he
1) Leads the team in plus/minus at +10 (all players combined are -156)
2) Leads the all Kings players in Corsi (CF% and CF% rel)
3) Plays 18 mins a night and gets PK time.
4) Leads all Kings players in blocked shots.
5) Leads all Kings defensemen in hits.
6) Is tied with Kopitar in team goals for per 60 min at even strength when he is on the ice.
7) Leads all Kings defensemen in the least goals against per 60 minutes at even strength.
8) Leads all Kings players in defense point shares (DPS).
9) At or near the top in pretty much every metric and fancy stat category that players are evaluated upon on the Kings.
What's stellar about Roy's emergence (and I'm not trying to overlook him again by saying this--simply adding on) is that it means either Walker OR Roy is 2RHD and 3RHD. That's good depth at a time when we didn't expect it, and means the puzzle pieces are figuring out the LHDs in Bjornfot, Anderson (who has impressed me thus far too), Clague BEFORE even talking about camp surprises.
If nothing really comes of this season but youth getting experience and the d-core solidifying, that's still a great boon. And that Roy is staying consistent late in the season and arguably getting stronger at a time when many first-full-year players start faltering is really impressive.
Ziggy won't be making fun of him anymoreRoy +4 today, now +14
Still have Tobias coming! If someone told me two years ago that Roy+Walker would be fantastic with a heavy load and that Anderson would come in and be immediately solid, I'd accuse them of being drunk. Defensive depth looks to be going from a weakness to a strength in a hurry.
And he has the potential to be the best of the lot, in terms of blue line prospects. Roy’s emergence and Anderson looking the part also mean he’s no longer the saviour for our defence so the pressure is seriously reduced on both Björnfot and the team. That’s only a good thing.Still have Tobias coming!
I am hoping that Morverare will have a similar surprise element. Probably a long shot tho. What's stellar about Roy's emergence (and I'm not trying to overlook him again by saying this--simply adding on) is that it means either Walker OR Roy is 2RHD and 3RHD.
