What do we think happens with Prokhorkin?

Wagner and Prokhorkin are the only two RFA's currently on the roster, signing them gives us 12 forwards for next season. Does Lewis really get signed, I'm not sure he does. Moore kinda fills the spot that Lewis has been in.

That completely depends on his desire to want to be here.. the skill is there to be successful, he just needs to finish the season strong. I hope he comes back, if anything he could turn into another asset.

True! Even Trevor Moore is looking good and playing very well. Love his skating, tenacity and has decent skill. Noah Clarke used to get more press for being a local kid, but was really not NHL level player...but Moore is actually looking like a fit and can play. There should be more local press for him, I think. It seems he was a throw in to help make the cap work for the Leafs, but honestly he's legit and can play.

Moore is a very gifted stickhandler and has the creativity to match his soft hands. Has excellent hockey sense and likes to generate offense from down low, especially from behind the net.
(Peter Oundjian, EP 2018)

Agreed. I'd honestly like bigger wingers for Lizotte, but if Moore sticks on the line, hopefully we can get a bigger player to flank those two.

Fun fact, Noah Clarke's sisters own an amazing cheese shop (that also hosts delicious whisk(e)y tastings) in Claremont called Cheese Cave. Kent Huskins (former Duck) and his family own a coffee shop down the 57 in Santa Ana as well; they have some epic, old school hockey decor (and solid coffee). It's called Huskins Coffee, easy to remember.

There is also a contract issue for Prokhorkin to consider. He had no choice but accept the ELC for this year, now he has to decide what he thinks he is worth and if he is going to get it here or potentially take more at home.

Sure, the Kings have plenty of cap space, but that is only part of the equation in determining what they will offer him.

No way, I have been there many, many times and had no idea Clarke's family owned it.

As a side note, when Viva Madrid first opened up just down the street they used to have a TV above the bar and I would stop by after work to grab a bowl of oxtail stew (maybe a sangarita or two) and catch the 2nd and 3rd periods of road games. The bartender was a fan, and that was the only time I ever saw them use that TV.

I like him and he has upside but he’s not yet done enough to earn much, if anything, above the league minimum.

I think if money was a question he would have never come over.. IMO, it's the opportunity to play against the best. He's gotten better all around as the season has progressed, but the role hes expected to fill and his acceptance of said role will also be factor.

Lewis deserves to be put out to pasture.

Porkins looked like Malkin last game. He needs to stop showing flashes and start showing consistency but he's back if he wants to be.

Agreed! His skating even looked better. He's hard to figure out. He has flashes of skill, big shot, great hands, good puck control, some good defensive plays....and even sometimes, he throws hits with authority and is no wilting flower.
I think it would certainly help him, if he was moved off line 4. Give him some PP time and 1st or 2nd line and see what he can do...I was shocked Todd put him as #1 shooter in the shootout a few games ago - to me, it meant Todd
must see him score a lot in practice and felt good about putting him out for the shootout...which then begs the question - why then just give him 8 minutes a game on line 4 then?

I want the signings to appear! Some of: Turcotte, Madden, Hults (he still has games this weekend, though) or a college free agent. I've seen nothing much on Madden since
acquiring him....except the first day or 2 after the Toffoli deal. Of course, he had a broken hand. If he signs, I hope he spends the Summer in LA with the strength coach.
He seriously needs at least 10 more lbs, before playing pro.

Interesting that Blake was in Toronto last week / weekend? Wonder if he was looking at potential free agents, pro games, AHL games, CHL games, college games?
2020 draft prospects...seeing Akil Thomas, Dudas, Kaliyev, etc play. Maybe some of a few of these. Maybe to sign Kaliyev, as well.

Dubas does have a hard on for Kale Clague.. Maybe we can build something around him for Kapanen?
As for a signing... Here's hoping we land Marc Michaelis

I can't see us trading from a position of organization weakness for a position of relative strength, but Kapanen would be a nice fit for sure

With the current status of the org putting so much time into Clague only to trade him right now seems tough

Where would you put him? He's not playing with Doughty, that's Toby's spot.. He's not playing with Roy, that's Mikey's spot.. That leaves Sean Walker...
Clague-Walker would induce cardiac arrest.. Clague hasnt just been surpassed by Toby and Mikey, he's also been passed by Walker and Roy. Kapanen is cheap, young, productive, fast and perfect for a rebuild

I would--at the very least--try Mikey-Walker, Clague-Roy. And that's just a default setting, guys can falter or get hurt over a full season.

Yep, it's his two sisters but I believe he and his family are around quite a bit. He's from Laverne or Upland just down Foothill, met him at one of the roller rinks over there years ago. I don't even remember how I found out the Clarke's owned Cheese Cave; I think I had some friends who saw some Kings gear there at some point told me maybe.

What the heck is this looking like for 20-21? with no moves, even. One of: Turcotte, Kaliyev or Fagemo will make it...my 3 longshots.
Entering Kaliyev (he must sign, of course) as a 9 game tryout, with eligibility to return to Hamilton. See how close he is. No big risk.
(IF he has a stellar Summer training and training camp)

There will be some more moves / signings and this will not be what it will be. Just having to write names down and see what's what.
Would not mind them signing Hutton a yr or 2. He really has played pretty well and is still young. Also slight chance lotto gods
love LA and Lafreniere is King.

Iafallo Kopitar Brown
Frk Vilardi Kaliyev
Kempe Lizotte JAD
Wagner Amadio Moore
Grundstrom

Bjornfot Doughty
Anderson Roy
MacDermid Walker

new to Ontario: Fagemo, Turcotte (he hopefully plays 11 Reign games now) Thomas, Dudas, Hults, possibly Moverare. And Kupari starting over again.
