So Toffoli will get us a 2nd but Coleman will get you essentially two 1st rounders because he has one more year on contract?
Iafallo would be a better comparable to Coleman than TT.. Especially the contract situation (low cap hit, another year remaining).Blake Coleman does not compare to Toffoli...Coleman is the better player and by a good margin. He plays with intensity, is far more physical than Toffoli and never takes a shift off....Toffoli is not intense and often takes shifts and games off. They are completely different players. Coleman was the best player on the Devils this year and compares more to a 28 yr old Justin Williams. Would much rather have Coleman on my team. Brodeur knows the Devils on this board more then anyone and he even said Coleman was their best player this year.

sure, those things are nice, but has Coleman scored a hat trick outside? #checkmate
goal one. tap in. goalie out of position. goal two, Toffoli whiffs badly...regains control and rifles one past a screened goalie. goal 3, empty net.
It's not like he went Auston Matthews 3 times past a goalie.

Lost Sandstrom for nothing. Weird time for the Kings back then.
How many times has Coleman gone Auston Matthews past the goalie? With 57 career goals it can't be very many.

ask any GM if they would rather have Coleman or Toffoli (even if TT had 1.8 mil cap) and *32 would say Coleman.
*Seattle, Blake / Hextall included

So what if that's true? The difference between the two players is not nearly as large as the difference between a 1st + 27th pick last year and the 2nd that Toffoli's supposed to return. Even taking into account the extra year given that you can add resigning conditions to a Toffoli deal.
I have watched at least 10 Devils games this year and last game, they even had a special 3 minute feature on Coleman and how intense he is, how he prepares and how he never takes a shift off
and has the best compete on the Devils. It's true. I think this deal puts Tampa Bay as Cup favorites. They are missing this type of player. He will be their Justin Williams
To quote Brodeur on another thread: Decent return for Coleman, bummer to see him go since he was virtually the only Devil who was playing well this year. I wasn’t that high on Foote going into the draft last year, but we’ll see if he can develop into a middle six winger.
To quote a poster on lakingsinsider: Drew
Very true. I live in ny so watch the devils a fair amount and he definitely is a much more rounded player.

Who here is questioning Toffoli's compete level? Wait, I am.
Why do we keep shouting florida? Is there a scout on an extended vacation?
Its not Barkov, or Hube, Trochek maybe? Do we have someone they think is an upgrade at center? They are still in the hunt for playoffs.
