They are all Luc's buddies after all.Well that explains a lot. Him and Modry. Hell, the entire late 90s Kings are here haha.

Wagner was the 99th player taken in his draft. While it's not unheard of for a guy taken in the middle rounds to become a quality player, he's always had his speed right? If he had high end talent to combine with that speed, he would've been at least a top 5 pick. As long as we keep the expectations around 99th pick expectations, then I think we can be happy with Wagner. Go back and look at the 99th picks over the last few decades. Wagner, as is, is one of the better ones.
If he ever becomes more than a fast checker, it will only be a plus. Laperriere once scored 140 points in junior. It was in the Q, so maybe a bit inflated, but not everyone on his team was scoring 140 points. He was the 158th player taken. Keep the expectations realistic, and Wagner is fine.
I think he'll probably get a conditional 1st.Hopefully Toffoli’s hat trick gets the attention of some desperate teams.

Some people are saying the 2020 draft is one of the deepest drafts in recent memory.
I hope that's true. After Amart/Lewis/Toffoli are moved, I expect the Kings to have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds of the draft.
One GREAT draft can set your franchise up for the next decade. Like the 2003 draft did for the Ducks landing Perry/Getzlaf.
Andy Greene just got a 2nd and prospect from the Islanders. Marty should at least see a similar return, hoping a deadline bidding war starts.
They got a former 7th rd pick from 4 years ago, and a 2nd rd pick in 2021. I don't think Martinez is bringing back the moon, but context is important.
Quenville was the 30th overall pick, and a 2nd is a 2nd.
If that's the floor, we're sitting pretty.
Edit:
We already have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds. I don't think it's unrealistic at all to think the Kings will get two more after Toffoli and Amart are moved.Supposed to be one of the deeper drafts in 2 decades, and they'll get higher picks in a deep draft for those 3? Lofty expectations.
How the hell does Blake Coleman cost a 1st rounder and Nolan Foote? Toffoli>Coleman so I think this trade is good for us?
Coleman has more value because of the extra low cap hit and extra year.
Coleman has more value because of the extra low cap hit and extra year.
I’m not against taking 2021 picks also, it may be better to stagger the pipeline a little and they’d still be valuable assets to maybe help us move up if needed. We already have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds. I don't think it's unrealistic at all to think the Kings will get two more after Toffoli and Amart are moved.
