WE've reached the 11 game mark and I liked most of what I saw in the first 10 games play wise given situations but even not seeing tonight's game it's really ugly to drop this one in such a fashion.

I said we'll find out who they really are when the schedule calms down over the next month, but I think we may have found out tonight?

Regardless, if this season is about sorting the wheat from the chaff, seems like there are some pretty clear camps of "2018 was an outlier" and "2018 was who this guy is" forming. That's good to know as the roster evolves throughout the next month or so.

They're not going to be able to hold down some of the Reign players, and they're not going to be able to excuse some of the Kings players. And Todd's evaluations so far have been money, we'll see if his words translate into actions. I really appreciate and respect the way he's gone to bat for Kempe and Quick, gotta give those guys confidence, but I know he will be a realist at some point as well.

They mentioned Kopitar was sick, so again I didn't see it, but he gets a 2-3 game benefit of the doubt from me given he was over PPG until now.

I'm more concerned about kempe than quick. quick has proven he can play and may be heading towards a back up roll. kempe is what, a center, a winger I have no clue what he bring to this team other than bad penalties, like tonight. He's worthess on the pp, winning draws and scoring, which is what's he's suppose to do.He's played almost 200 nhl games now and has shown no signs of getting better.

the TV is ****in brutal man

fox/faust is one of the worst combos in the NHL, complete absence of professionalism which is a disgrace after having been blessed with bob for so many years

someone just needs to bark in fausts ear "you are not doing color. you are doing play-by-play" every 30 seconds because i think he's capable of calling a good game if he actually calls it.. he just insists on having good ole boys fun time with fox

Faust is way better on national broadcasts but has zero chemistry with Jim Fox and he seems to try and keep up with the homerism when they call a broadcast.

Fox is just more pleasant version of Hayward at this point. There has been no realistic professional analysis of the Kings from their color guy since they won the first cup and none at all since Bob retired.

and Blake sees so much potential in this strumpet, he even goes on and signs his brother in a flamboyant attempt at nepotism

Kings lines have no chemistry. Wasting Kopi with 3rd line talent like Iafallo and Brown has to stop! Lizotte is a 4th liner and Lewis has to go! Kovalchuk needs to play with Kopi and Carts too! Kempe can play wing with Amadio and Toffoli. Prokhorkin needs a chance to centre the 3rd line at least or LWing with Kopi. Kings need a shake up as this line up is not getting it done!

Looks like I picked the right game to skip in favor of getting drunk in Hollywood. Those Wild/Kings games sure are barn burners.

Should've done the same. The battle of the bad and we lost badly. This loss was waaay worse than the Vancouver beatdown. No excuse to lose this one. Never seen a team look so bad on the 5 on 3.

On nights like these...I just keep at the forefront of my mind...

1. Vilardi is skating and moving well - as good as since he was shut down. (hey, be encouraged)
2. Grundstrom is killing it in 4 AHL games; 5 goals, 2 assists, +8
3. Bjornfot is killing it there too: second goal tonight: 2 goals, 2 assists 4 pts in 4 games and +7!
4. Anderson-Dolan 2 pts tonight and 2nd star. 3 goals 4 assists 7 pts in 8 games. +5
5. Kupari doing ok and will be gaining good experience
6. Kaliyev 3rd in OHL scoring and 14 g in 14 games
7. Akil Thomas now going well and 18 pts
8. Cal Petersen excelling and probably best goalie in AHL and signed for a few yrs
9. Fagemo excelling in Frolunda
10. Moverare resurrected and may yet be legit NHL defenseman
11. Shafigullin lighting up MHL
12. Dudas looks promising
13. oh and Sean Walker is a legit NHL defenseman now.
14. we get to see MacDermid play and will see some decent fights
15. with each loss, that much closer to shot at Byfield or Lafreniere
16. Turcotte (missed both games with illness) but he has an ill 8 pts in his first 4 games.
17. Sean Durzi almost back from injury.
18. Vilardi is skating!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yuuuup and lets look at the cross town rivals. They've been rebuilding a few years now right along with us but the difference with the Sucks is at least they've filtered the old crappy players out and give their young players a chance. While the Kings still hold onto garbage and keep hoping they'll all of a sudden become what they were. I'm not saying rush our kids but just get rid of crap that keeps lingering around. I'd much rather see a few of our young prospects play then see these old slow fourth liners continue to crap the bed night in and night out. Just my 2 cents.

I caught the highlights, and good lord the Kings are soft as hell in front of their own net. Zero battle in front of their own netminder. And that goes for both defensemen and forwards.

Chicago is a crappy team this season as well, but I’m sure playing the Kings tomorrow will boost their confidence.

And I still wonder why Grundstrom got demoted after last year’s showing. That man is NHL material.

Right now he is showing that was not a logical decision.

I want my boy Matt Luff back too.

Got home from work semi-excited to watch the DVR

Accidentally checked the score

*deletes recording, goes on with night*

KEMPE SUCKS BTW!

It's why you develop Prospects in the AHL, not the NHL. Kempe doesn't have a well rounded game, and won't develop one in the NHL. Kempe should also be playing Wing.

I think he can still turn into a consistent 15G 25A player, but boy the Kings have done irreparable damage to his game with not letting him play longer in the AHL.

They bought Perry out, as the Kings did with Phaneuf. Kelser and Eaves got hurt to the point that they're essentially retired. Who else have the Ducks really filtered out? Plus I'm sure the Kings have had more older players signed to long contracts, so they couldn't easily let them walk away. The Kings just haven't lucked out with any old guys getting hurt long term.

At this point, since the horrible start last year, I doubt Blake is holding onto any garbage hoping they become what they once were. The problem is the cap. There's no clearing the slate and going as cheap as you can. There's no choice but to use at least a certain amount of cap space. It's not easy getting rid of older players with multiple years on their contracts. It's going to be a slow process.

Grundstrom didn't have to pass waivers, and has a two-way deal. It's not enjoyable, we all want to see a young lineup, but there is a rational reason. There aren't many old players making millions in the AHL anywhere around the league. That league isn't supposed to be a contract dumping ground. If you're a young guy, who doesn't have to clear, you make 5 figures if you're in the AHL, and there'ss a numbers game, you are likely going to get caught up in it. It's not fair, but Lizotte basically took his roster spot, and it's better to play in Ontario than sit in LA. Even Wagner is still playing some of the fewest minutes on the team.

It would be great if all the old guys were either on the 4th line(or gotten rid of entirely) or down in Ontario(sorry Ontario ticket holders), while the young guys were already leading the way on the top line here, but it's not going to happen that quickly.

They should have let Kempe play in Sweden another season or two...maybe put Kempe with Grundstrom and Toffoli? The AHL for the Europeans doesn't seem like a good training ground as they get lost in the numbers...hope this is not happening with Kupari,Sodergran...these players need to play and play often...Moverare is developing well...

The whole point of this season is to try to regain some individuals values and sell them at the deadline.

Next year’s roster could be drastically different.

If LA miraculously ends up with a top five pick this team will be loaded with potential.

I understand the waiver process but than you need to sit guys in favour of him.

The likes of Lizotte, Lewis, Kempe, Iafallo & Co.

Eventually its all about the product that we get to see on the ice.

I dont consider Grunstrom ‘a kid’. There is a reason he played in the SEL at a young ago already. That was four years ago already and now he is playing in the second league..

The AHL is a downgrade at this point in his career.

i mean i don't think anyones denying grundstrom had a rough camp

he was definitely a breath of fresh air last season but he didn't do a thing in camp so that's why he's starting the season in the A, i don't think its anything beyond that

i think i was still ripping on how badly Adrian Kempe sucks and Blake's inability to see this

but i could see how you saw it as a jab at the Mario Kempe signing

When Blake took over as GM, Kempe was probably the best prospect in the pool. He hasn't developed the way we all hoped, but I think it is probably smart to do everything possible to help him develop. Especially in a transition season.
