I’d absolutely love Anders Lee and he’d fit here like a glove but I can’t imagine the Islanders aren’t gonna pull out all the stops and overpay him if they have to to keep him on the island.

... unless of course Anders has some Blackhawks pajamas we don’t know about?

Sikura's value right now is next to nothing. They're better off waiting.

Definitely agree. You don’t count on Sikura contributing next year, but you certainly don’t sell him now for nothing.

There’s still a chance he surprises you (and definitely me), so there’s no reason to not see him in camp.

I think Sikura is in for a decent year tbh...he looked much better to finish the year than at any point in his nhl career...

Panarin, Skinner, Lee, Zuccarello, and even Johansson interest me if they don't get signed.

He plays with so much effort that he definitely deserves a shot. I’ll be real interested to see how he does next year with an off season of training now that he knows what he needs to work on after playing at the NHL level.

I’d personally try and groom him into an elite 4th liner and PK specialist like Frolik.

I thought Sikura really showed some good things after his second call up.
He looked more dangerous with the puck setting it up when he was up with Toews. Also like how he saad and Anisimov played together. His defense mostly back checking was noticeable also.
I think he has a decent future for the hawks. Probably not top 6 but a bottom 6 you can move up and down.

I know I'm off on positions, money jersey numbers and such. I left everyone go amongst the free agents from Rockford and the hawks.
This killed some time tonight.
Happy mothers days everyone.

No chance we sign Ferland to play on the fourth line. Dzingel is a maybe but not really the defensive type player we need to play with Strome and Cat.

Sikura might not even be on the roster, he wasn’t super impressive. And I’m assuming Anisimov is gone back to CBJ. I think it’s more likely we go after a guy like Brock Nelson to fill a hole in the lineup.

I noticed you guys and gals were talking about possibly adding Brown from Toronto. What would a deal for Saad look like, while including Brown in the deal?

I'd prefer Toronto adding Zaitsev in the deal, but that is probably a no-go for Chicago.

Hawks will not be dealing Saad. He looked like his 2015 Saad to finish the season. Hawks have an abundance of defense prospects though, excluding their top 4 - Boqvist, Mitchell, Beaudin, Jokiharju.

Yeah, not sure How Toronto would get Saad in a deal while shedding cap space. Zaitsev is defintiely a non-starter.

I think a third rounder is about right for Brown, so you'd have to cough up some assets for Saad.

Saad won't get moved.

Anisimov, Perlini, Forsling, Hayden, Fortin, and Koekkoek are available. And of course picks which are probably the more enticing offer.

DeBrincat-Toews-Kubalik
Caggiula-Strome-Kane
Saad-Anisimov-Kahun
Perlini-Kampf-??

First two lines get basically even icetime, third line is the two-way matchup line, fourth lint is the d-zone matchup line.

Poweplays remain the same as this year with Kahun and Kubalik rotating on PP2, unless Kubalik fully steals the spot from Kahun.

If that first line stumbles, swap Saad and Kahun with DeBrincat and Kubalik. Toews line would then be the matchup line, and DeBrincat line would be the bumslaying line.

Since Seabrook will be on the roster next year regardless of what posters say, what can he do to improve his game? Can he lose even more weight to get faster? Allegedly, he came into last season in the best shape of his life. Is Brent Seabrook just washed or is there anything he can do to make himself better? I'm just asking for a passable third pairing DMen next year. What a possibly sad ending for once a great player.

Assuming Hawks want to make at least one big UFA splash and if Stanley seems to want to bring back most of this years D (Leaving open chance another kid besides Joker joins club in camp) and doesn't plan to trade Anisimov

And lets say he see's someone dropping to late 1st round he wants

- Panarin (11M x 7) as big UFA/Attention getter
- Trade Forsling to Panthers for Pens 4th in 2019
- Trade Saad to Islanders for 2019 1st and 2020 4th
- Sign Kubalik to ELC
- Re-Sign RFA's Kampf (1.4M x 2) , Perlini (1.15M x 2) and Sikura (975k x 2)
- Promote Joker , Highmore and Delia to NHL roster fulltime

Panarin-Anisimov-Kane
Kabalik-Toews-Kabun
Debrincat-Strome-Sikura
Caggiula-Kampf-Perlini
(Highmore)

Keith-Joker
Gus-Murphy
Koekkoek-Seabrook
(Dahlstrom)

Crawford
Delia

Presuming a 81M cap that leaves Hawks with 8M in cap room to carry another forward and leave room open for potential trades in season

Longterm leaves Hawks in good cap shape to extend Debrincat , Strome and Kahun and with our young defenders coming on ELC"s in coming years that will help with cap longterm as well as guys like Anisimov and Murphy coming off books in coming years as well and eventually Kane/Toews will have new contracts down line that should be lesser cap hits

Its painful and makes we want to vomit bringing back most of our D from last year but maybe Byran (Would be mistake to pass on him) or Boqvist excel in camp and capture a spot leading to someone like Dahlstrom being sent packing

Thoughts?

3 balanced scoring lines (If things work out) and a good energy 4th line

BWC - I get the want for AP but is it the best way to spend the cash?

I would prefer to trade AA then sign Matt D for 7x8. This removes some cost and improves our depth down the middle. Thoughts?
